A controller is configured to operate the water supply to dispense the wash fluid, measure a first conductivity of the wash fluid using the conductivity sensor, operate the bulk dispenser to dispense the wash additive, measure a second conductivity of the wash fluid using the conductivity sensor, determine that the wash additive was not dispensed based at least in part on the first conductivity and the second conductivity, and implement a responsive action.

Systems and methods for performing additive dispenser diagnostics in a washing machine appliance

A laundry appliance includes a camera for determining whether the drum is rotating during operation of the appliance. A controller is operably coupled to the camera. The controller is configured for obtaining one or more images of the drum during operation of the appliance. The controller may be configured for and/or a method of sanitizing the laundry appliance may include opening a valve upstream of the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator to provide the flow of cold water through the laundry appliance, confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance after opening the valve, and activating the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator after confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance.

The controller is configured for obtaining one or more images of an air flow indicator positioned in the path of the air flow. An artificial intelligence image recognition process is used to perform image classification and determine whether air flow through the appliance is fully or partially obstructed based on the amount of deflection of the air flow indicator. In the event of an air flow obstruction, operation of the laundry appliance is adjusted.
