Enhanced seismic velocity models are generated using a geomechanical model. A tomographic velocity model is generated based on raw seismic data. One or more initial seismic images are generated based at least partially on the tomographic velocity model. Geomechanical data and the initial seismic images are used to generate a geomechanical model. The geomechanical model produces geomechanical outputs that are used to generate a geomechanical velocity model. A second tomographic velocity model is generated based on the first tomographic velocity model and the geomechanical velocity model.

Generating enhanced seismic velocity models using geomechanical modeling

Seismic data of a subterranean region is received by data processing apparatus. The seismic data includes multiple seismic data points. For each seismic data point, gradients are computed based on the received seismic data and a dip angle is computed based on the gradients for the each seismic data point. The dip angle is smoothed using anisotropic diffusion.

Estimating geological dip based on seismic data

A computer-implemented method can include the following. Seismic vibratory waves through the Earth along a selected vector path are received. An initial value is selected for a first arrival for each of the seismic vibratory waves. Initial values are determined for travel times and velocities of the seismic vibratory waves. Reversed signs of amplitudes of the seismic vibratory waves are determined and corrected. Time intervals are determined based on the initial values of the travel times. Time windowing and filtering in a frequency domain are performed. Final values are determined for first arrivals and travel times for each of the seismic vibratory waves based on the time windowing and filtering. Final values are determined for velocities of the seismic vibratory waves.

Robust arrival picking of seismic vibratory waves

Methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations including obtaining, for a plurality of traces, seismic signal amplitude data associated with a plurality of sources and receivers; determining that the signal amplitude data includes at least a receiver key and a source key; in response to the determining, generating a receiver group key and a source group key; assigning a respective weight to each of the receiver key, the source key, the receiver group key, and the source group key; and generating surface-consistent amplitude data using the constrained linear system of equations and each scaling factor of the weighted-receiver key, the weighted-source key, the weighted-receiver group key, and the weighted-source group key.
