A touch controller includes a touch data generator that is connected to a plurality of sensing lines, the touch data generator sensing a change in capacitance of a sensing unit connected to each of the sensing lines and generating touch data by processing the sensing signal corresponding to the result of sensing; and a signal processor that controls a timing of generating the touch data by receiving at least one piece of timing information for driving a display panel from a timing controller, and then providing either the timing information or a signal generated from the timing information as a control signal to the touch data generator.

A capacitive sensing device comprises first electrodes in which a plurality of first sensing elements are arranged in rows and columns, and second electrodes in which a plurality of second sensing elements are arranged in rows and columns. Each of the first sensing elements has an iron cross shape, and each of the second sensing elements has a double-cross shape in which a first cross and a second cross overlap each at a shared center point and the second cross is rotated with respect to the first cross. Capacitances are formed between the first sensing elements and the second sensing elements.

A display panel driving apparatus and a method of driving the same are provided, and, in particular, a gate driver and a method of driving the gate driver. The gate driver includes a decoder that decodes gate line selection data and that generates a gate line selection signal. A gate driving circuit generates a gate driving signal in a pre-charging phase and a driving phase in response to the gate line selection signal and a pre-charging control signal that controls an off-state of non-selected gate lines. In a time period of the driving phase in which a gate line is not selected, a node that has been in a floating state is held to a target voltage level in response to a hold control signal. The hold control signal is generated based upon a timing relationship between the gate line selection signal and the pre-charging control signal.

The PTAT generator generates a PTAT current. The first current has a zero temperature coefficient and the second current has a positive temperature coefficient. A display driver integrated circuit using a ping-pong type sample and hold circuit is provided. The display driver integrated circuit includes a data counter, a comparison unit, a gray voltage generation unit, and a sample and hold circuit. The data counter outputs first through n-th gamma data in response to a clock signal. The comparison unit compares input image data with each of the first through n-th gamma data so as to output a comparison signal. The gray voltage generation unit generates first through n-th gray voltages in response to the first through n-th gamma data. The sample and hold circuit includes a first sub sample and hold circuit and a second sub sample and hold circuit and outputs one of the first through n-th gray voltages in response to the comparison signal. Level shifting circuits generate multiple tracking signals that are in-phase with an input signal, but are also level-shifted with wider voltage swings relative to the input signal. These input tracking signals are provided as separate inputs to an inverter having at least one PMOS pull-up transistor and at least one NMOS pull-down transistor therein. A level shifting circuit may include a differential input circuit, which is responsive to true and complementary input signals. A first load circuit is electrically coupled to the differential input circuit. This first load circuit is configured to generate first and second tracking signals at respective first and second nodes therein. These first and second tracking signals are in-phase, level-shifted versions of each other, and have respective voltage swings that are greater than a voltage swing of the complementary input signals. The inverter includes a pull-up transistor responsive to the first tracking signal and a pull-down transistor responsive to the second tracking signal.

The gray-scale voltages may be generated by adjusting output ranges of the gray-scale voltages while fixing a gamma correction voltage on a constant level. The gamma correction device may include a gamma correction voltage generator generating a plurality of gamma correction voltages corresponding to a reference gamma value; a gray-scale voltage generation circuit dividing the gamma correction voltages to generate a plurality of sub gray-scale voltage sets each of which includes a sub gray-scale voltage corresponding to each gamma value; and a gray-scale voltage selection circuit outputting one of the sub gray-scale voltages of each sub gray-scale voltage set as a gray-scale voltage.

Gamma correction device, display apparatus including the same, and method of gamma correction therein

A highly efficient LCD driving voltage generating circuit and method consumes a relatively small amount of power, as compared to conventional means. The LCD driving voltage generating circuit comprises a DC-DC converter for boosting an input voltage in response to a clock signal and for outputting the boosted voltage as a first driving voltage; a voltage controlled oscillator for generating the clock signal at a frequency that changes in response to the level of a control voltage; and a control voltage generator for generating the control voltage in response to the difference between a reference voltage and a feedback voltage derived from the first driving voltage. In this manner, as the feedback voltage becomes lower than a reference voltage, the frequency of the clock signal input into a DC-DC converter increases. If the feedback voltage is lower than a predetermined voltage, this indicates that the level of the first driving voltage is lower than a predetermined value, and thus current consumption of the LCD panel is large. It is possible to decrease power consumption and increase boosting efficiency by changing the frequency of the clock signal used for boosting of a DC-DC converter according to the current consumption of the LCD panel.
