The present invention relates to a secondary battery in which an electrode tab is improved in mechanical strength and a method for manufacturing the same. Also, the secondary battery according to the present invention includes: an electrode provided with a coating portion coated with an active material on an electrode collector and a non-coating portion on which the active material is not applied to the electrode collector, the non-coating portion being adjacent to the coating portion in a width direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the electrode collector, the non-coating portion having a plurality of notching tabs formed therein such that each of the plurality of notching tabs extends away from the coating portion in a width direction. When the electrode assembly is in the wound state, the plurality of notching tabs are circumferentially distributed about a central axis of the electrode assembly.

Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same

An electrode for a secondary battery may include an electrode collector, a coating portion having an active material coated on the electrode collector, a first non-coating portion on which the active material is not applied to the electrode collector, and a second non-coating portion on which the active material is not applied to the electrode collector. The first non-coating portion may be adjacent to the coating portion in a width direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the electrode collector, the first non-coating portion having a longitudinal dimension extending along the longitudinal direction, the first non-coating portion configured to be bent and electrically coupled to a can member of the secondary battery. The second non-coating portion may be adjacent to the coating portion in the longitudinal direction. The electrode may be stacked into a stack with a separator and a second electrode of an opposite polarity than the electrode.

According to one aspect of the present invention, a secondary battery has a bent part disposed on an end of an upper portion of the battery can. The bent part is bent inward toward a top cap to fix the top cap. The secondary battery is configured such that, when an internal pressure of the battery can exceeds a predetermined value, a region (R) in which the top cap and the bent part overlap each other when viewed from above is reduced by deformation of the top cap or the bent part to allow an entire region of the top cap to become spaced further from the battery can.

The present invention relates to a secondary battery in which an electrode tab is improved in mechanical strength and a method for manufacturing the same. Also, the secondary battery according to the present invention includes: an electrode provided with a coating portion coated with an active material on an electrode collector and a non-coating portion on which the active material is not applied to the electrode collector in a longitudinal direction of the electrode collector and a notching tab part extending from the coating portion in a width direction of the electrode collector without coating with the active material and overlapping each other to form two or more layers when the electrode is wound.

A secondary battery may include: an electrode assembly in which first and second electrode sheets are stacked and wound with a separation sheet interposed therebetween, wherein a first electrode tab protrudes in the first electrode sheet, and a second electrode tab protrudes in the second electrode sheet; a battery can to accommodate the electrode assembly therein; and a connection part above or below the electrode assembly and facing the electrode assembly, wherein the connection part has a first area made of an electrically conductive gel material; and a second area attached to the first area and made of an electrically insulating material, wherein the second area forms at least a portion of a top surface of the connection part, and at least a portion of the first electrode tab or the second electrode tab is inserted into the first area of the connection part.

The present disclosure provides a battery tab-feeding device including a battery tab disposed on a non-coating part of an electrode plate during a process of manufacturing an electrode by fusing the battery tab to the non-coating part of an electrode plate, an electrode plate supporting part disposed to support the electrode plate having a first surface exposed from both surfaces of the electrode plate and a tab transferring part disposed to support a battery tab and transfer the battery tab to the non-coating part of the electrode plate. Additionally, a guide part guides the transfer of the battery tab to position a first side edge of the battery tab perpendicular to a first side edge of the electrode plate.

A winding device for manufacturing an electrode assembly is provided. The winding device includes a main body portion; a winding core for winding an electrode and a separation film; and a foreign particle remover connected to the main body portion and removing foreign particles, wherein the foreign particle remover is formed to surround the winding core while separated from the winding core.

A method for manufacturing a secondary battery is provided, the method including a first step of providing a top cap and a safety vent, a second step of bending an end portion of the safety vent upward, and a third step of inserting the top cap inside the safety vent. The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a negative electrode sheet, a positive electrode sheet, and a separation membrane; and a heat radiation tape disposed at an external circumferential surface of the electrode assembly. The present disclosure provides a cylinder type battery cell manufacturing apparatus which is an apparatus configured to form a crimping portion on a cap assembly coupling portion of a cylinder type battery cell, the manufacturing apparatus including: a primary crimping mold configured to apply a primary pressure so that an open upper end portion of a cylinder type metal can forms an inclination inclined to a central axis of the metal can on a vertical section in a state in which a cap assembly is coupled to the open upper portion of the cylinder type metal can; and a secondary crimping mold configured to apply a secondary pressure to the open upper end portion in which the inclination is formed so that a flat section parallel to a lower surface of the metal can is formed in the crimping portion.
