A battery service providing system and method, the battery service providing system including a battery service server for collecting diagnostic analysis data including operation characteristic information of a battery and driving characteristic information of an electric vehicle from an electric vehicle control device and providing update information of a charging/discharging control logic of the battery according to the degree of degradation determined from the diagnostic analysis data to the electric vehicle control device, determining a residual value or a usage fee of the battery based on the determined degree of degradation, transmitting the usage fee or the residual value of the battery to an external server, or setting a warranty flag for the battery whose charging and discharging is controlled according to the update information of the charging/discharging control logic.

Battery service providing system and method

A battery performance management system and method using an electric vehicle charging station. The battery performance management server collects battery performance evaluation information including identification information and operation characteristic accumulative information of a battery, identification information and driving characteristic accumulative information of the electric vehicle, and latest charging characteristic information of the battery from a plurality of charging stations through a network. The server determines a current state of health (SOH) corresponding to the collected battery performance evaluation information by using an artificial intelligence model that is trained in advance to receive the battery performance evaluation information and output a SOH of the battery. The server determines a latest control factor corresponding to the current SOH, and transmits the latest control factor to the charging station so that the charging station may transmit the latest control factor to a control system of the electric vehicle to update the control factor.

Battery performance management system and method

Disclosed is an analytic sensitivity expression for parameters of a battery electrochemical model, based on model reduction and reformulation techniques such as the single particle assumption, Padé approximation, and Laplace transform. The analytic expressions of sensitivity are in a compact form with explicit relationship to the current input, which enables the direct optimization of the input-dependent sensitivity. The current optimization with maximum sensitivity may be performed for several critical battery electrochemical parameters, namely a solid-phase lithium diffusion coefficient, a volume fraction of the electrode active material, and a reaction rate constant. The electrochemical parameter may be reliably identified using the optimal current profile.

A charging apparatus includes a control unit configured to determine an average ion concentration, a surface ion concentration and a solid phase potential for anode particles and an electrolyte potential in an anode, using a predefined electrochemical reduced order model. The control unit is further configured to determine a side reaction rate from the solid phase potential and the electrolyte potential. The control unit is further configured to reduce the magnitude of the charging current applied to a secondary battery based on at least one of a cutoff voltage, the surface ion concentration and the side reaction rate.

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling step charging of a secondary battery. A charging control unit determines a SOC, an OCV and a polarization voltage of the secondary battery, determines an OCV deviation corresponding to a difference between the OCV and a predefined minimum OCV value, determines a correction factor corresponding to the polarization voltage and the OCV deviation, determines a look-up SOC by correcting the SOC according to the correction factor, determines the magnitude of a charging current corresponding to the look-up SOC, and provides the determined charging current to a charging device.

The method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes determining a first weighting factor based on a maximum charge voltage and a terminal voltage of the battery, determining a second weighting factor based on a previous smoothed charge power limit, a current charge power limit and a current instantaneous power, setting a smaller one of the first weighting factor and the second weighting factor as a first reference weighting factor, and smoothing the current charge power limit based on the previous smoothed charge power limit and the first reference weighting factor.
