Methods and apparatus are described for a User Equipment (UE) with reduced processing capabilities (e.g., Machine Type Communication (MTC) UE) to transmit and receive signaling are provided. The Downlink Control Information (DCI) formats scheduling a transmission of a Physical Uplink Shared CHannel (PUSCH) or a reception of a Physical Downlink Shared CHannel (PDSCH) are designed and have a smaller size than respective DCI formats for conventional UEs. DCI formats scheduling PUSCHs to or PDSCHs for a group of MTC UEs are also designed and can have a same size as DCI formats scheduling PUSCH or PDSCH for an individual MTC UE.

Method and apparatus for scheduling communication for low capability devices

Methods and apparatuses for a User Equipment (UE) to receive signaling of UE-common Downlink Control Information (DCI) in a set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) are provided. The method includes receiving, from a transmission point, a broadcast signal; determining a first set of PRBs for a first PDCCH based on the broadcast signal; determining a second set of PRBs for a second PDCCH based on a higher layer signaling; receiving, from the transmission point, first DCI on a first PDCCH in the first set of PRBs; and receiving, from the transmission point, second DCI on a second PDCCH in the second set of PRBs. A CRC of the first DCI is associated with an SI-RNTI, a CRC of the second DCI is associated with a C-RNTI, an RS is determined based on an identity of the transmission point, in a case that the RS is received in the first set of PRBs, and the RS is determined based on the higher layer signaling, in a case that the RS is received in the second set of PRBs.

Reference signals and common search space for enhanced control channels

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G communication system such as LTE. To this end, a base station using a large-scale antenna transmits, to a terminal, reference signal resource configuration information including multiple pieces of reference signal configuration information and reference signal port information, for transmission of a reference signal, and transmits the reference signal to the terminal using some or all of channel measurement resources indicated by the multiple pieces of reference signal configuration information and the reference signal port information included in the reference signal resource configuration information. In this case, the channel measurement resources may correspond to antenna ports, the number of which is indicated by a combination of the multiple pieces of reference signal configuration information and the reference signal port information.

Resource allocation device and method in large-scale antenna system

A method for receiving downlink control information is provided. The method includes receiving configuration information comprising a bit-map corresponding to a set of time occasions that are separated by a same interval; identifying at least one time occasion to monitor a candidate physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on at least one search space; and decoding the candidate PDCCH in the identified at least one time occasion for obtaining the downlink control information.

Communication support for low capability devices

A User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system using a Coordinated Multi-Point transmission/reception (CoMP) scheme receives Downlink Control Information (DCI) including CoMP control information, determines a starting position of a data channel on wireless resources, based on starting position information of a data channel included in the CoMP control information and used in each of a plurality of cells, and receives data from the plurality of cells starting from the determined starting position.

Search process for physical downlink control channels in a communication system

An apparatus and method for radio link monitoring in a wireless communication system are provided, in which a transmission point communicating with a network where a Base Station (BS) and at least one Remote Radio Head (RRH) coexist within a cell receives Reference Signal Configuration Information (RSCI) from the network to which the transmission point belongs, receives RSs of at least one RS type indicated by the received RSCI from the BS and the at least one RRH that coexist within the cell, and performs radio link monitoring using the received RSs of the at least one RS type.

Apparatus and method for radio link monitoring in a wireless communication system

Methods and apparatuses for a User Equipment (UE) to receive signaling of UE-common Downlink Control Information (DCI) in a set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) are provided. An apparatus and a method for transmitting/receiving downlink data channel signal transmission information in a cellular radio communication system using a Cooperative Multi-Point (CoMP) scheme are provided. In the downlink data channel signal transmission information transmission method, a Base Station (BS) transmits downlink data channel signal transmission information including information related to Resource Elements (REs) scheduled for a downlink data channel signal transmission to a User Equipment (UE), and transmits downlink data channel signal non-transmission information including information related to REs through which a downlink data channel signal is not transmitted among the REs scheduled for the downlink data channel signal transmission to the UE.
