The hydroextractor disclosed has a dehydration chamber, a pressurization chamber defined by a flexible diaphragm in isolation from the dehydration chamber, and a crushing member disposed in the dehydration chamber. A pipe member extends through the pressurization chamber and the diaphragm, and a rotary shaft extends sealingly through the pipe member into the dehydration chamber. The crushing member is mounted to the rotary shaft and is driven by a drive apparatus connected to the opposite end of the shaft. The hydroextractor feeds moist material and pours cooling water into the dehydration chamber and introduces pressurized water into the pressurization chamber. The hot material fed in the dehydration chamber is pressure-dehydrated into a cake with the diaphragm of the pressurization chamber. The dehydrated cake is poured with cooling water, and at the same time the crushing member crushes the dehydrated cake and mixes it with the cooling water. This agitation breaks films of coagulative substances formed in the dehydrated cake and provides passages for the residual water to be extracted, thereby increasing the dehydration rate and rapidly cooling the material.

Dehydrating method and hydroextractor

A hydroextractor in which a liquid material to be processed can be introduced into a hydroextracting chamber under a small pressure and the chamber can be filled with the material in a short period of time to thereby improve the operational efficiency, and a cake of the hydroextracted material can be easily removed from the hydroextracting chamber. For these purposes, this hydroextractor is arranged such that upper and lower filter cloths are provided at the top and the bottom of the hydroextracting chamber extending substantially horizontally, and that a diaphragm (8) shaped like an inverted dish is disposed on the upper surface of the upper filter cloth. Further, a pressure chamber is provided on the upper side of the diaphragm. The hydroextracting operation is performed by filling the liquid material in the hydroextracting chamber and generating a pressure in the pressure chamber so as to press the diaphragm downwardly.

Hydroextractor

A filtration/separation apparatus in which a filter cloth is arranged to travel and face a rotor so that a partitioned space chamber defined by the cloth and rotor is gradually narrowed in accordance with the rotation of the rotor. The space chamber defined is partitioned by vanes provided on the rotor, so that the positional relations in contact between the tip ends of the vanes and the filter cloth are maintained desirable with a high accuracy.

Filtration/separation apparatus

A continuous filtration/separation apparatus with a part of the casing of a vane pump constructed of a filter so that material to be treated which is introduced between the casing and the vane adjacent to the rotor can be dehydrated. The endless filter of the vane pump at one portion faces the rotor of the casing and moves successively. The vane pump also has a washing device for washing the other portion of the endless filter which does not face the rotor, to eliminate clogging of the filter. A support supports an arc portion facing the rotor of the casing, which arc portion is rotatable about a center which is eccentric relative to the center of rotation of the rotor, so that the dehydrating ratio can be adjusted. A drive rotates the arc portion about its center for adjustment of the dehydration ratio.
