To a hermetic compressor and a refrigeration cycle device having the same, an oil separator for separating oil from a refrigerant discharged from a compression unit is added. Separated oil is recollected into an oil pump driven by a driving motor. Because refrigerant separated from the oil is prevented from being re-introduced into the compressor, a cooling capability of the refrigeration cycle device may be enhanced. Because the oil pump is driven by the driving force of the driving motor, the compressor may have a simplified configuration, and the fabrication costs may be reduced. The oil used for a crankshaft lubrication process is returned to the oil pump by forming an oil pocket between bearing surfaces of a crankshaft and the oil pump, oil may be prevented from back-flowing to the oil separator from the crankshaft. This may allow oil to be smoothly recollected into the oil pump.

Disclosed are a hermetic compressor and a refrigeration cycle device having the same. An oil separator for separating oil from a refrigerant is installed outside a casing. The oil separated by the oil separator is recollected into the casing by an oil pump driven by a driving force of a driving motor. The oil is recollected from the refrigerant and fabrication costs are be reduced. A cooling capability of the refrigeration cycle device is enhanced, the compressor has a simplified configuration, and the fabrication costs are reduced. Because an outlet of a discharge opening through which oil is discharged to the casing from the oil pump is installed at a position lower than a minimum level of oil in the casing, the refrigerant is prevented from backflowing into an oil passage, and the occurrence of air bubbles on the surface of oil in the compressor may be prevented.

Hermetic compressor and refrigeration cycle device having the same

A hermetic compressor and a refrigeration cycle device having the same are provided. An oil separator is installed either outside or inside of a casing to separate oil from a discharged refrigerant and an oil pump driven by a driving force of a motor is used to recollect the oil separated in the oil separator, whereby the separation between oil and refrigerant can effectively be performed and also a fabricating cost can be reduced. Also, an introduction of the separated refrigerant back into the compressor can be prevented so as to improve a cooling capability of the refrigeration cycle device. In addition, the oil pump is driven by the driving force of the motor, resulting in a simple configuration of the compressor and a reduction of a fabricating cost of the compressor.

A hermetic compressor is provided, including a casing, having a suction pipe and discharge pipe connected thereto, a driving motor installed within the casing, a compressing device installed within the casing and operated by the driving motor to form compression chambers, an oil separator that separates oil from a refrigerant discharged from by compressing device, and an oil collecting pipe through which the oil separator communicates with the compression chambers. With this structure, oil can be appropriately supplied to one or more compressors based on capacity, thus improving reliability of oil distribution and enhancing compressor performance.

A compressor and an oil separating device therefor are provided which are capable of always maintaining a predetermined amount of oil in the compressor without additionally providing an oil separating device along a refrigerating cycle system. The compressor includes a casing, a compression device having a compression chamber disposed within the casing and configured to receive, compress, and output a refrigerant, and an oil separating device disposed within the casing. The oil separating device includes a separation chamber configured to circulate the refrigerant to separate oil therefrom, a guide member configured to direct the refrigerant discharged from the compression device, and a circulation member configured to receive the refrigerant from the guide member and direct the refrigerant into the separation chamber in a direction of circulation.

An apparatus for varying the capacity of a scroll compressor is disclosed. The apparatus for varying the capacity of a scroll compressor includes a bypass passage for connecting a compression pocket under intermediate pressure among compression pockets formed by a wrap of a fixed scroll and a wrap of a orbiting scroll and a suction side through which refrigerant is inhaled into the compression pocket to each other, an opening and closing device for opening and closing the bypass passage, and an elastic opening and closing device mounted in the bypass passage to open and close the bypass passage by the pressure of the compression pocket and the pressure and elasticity of the suction side according as the bypass passage is opened and closed by the opening and closing device. Therefore, it is possible to simplify the structure of varying the capacity of a compressor such that it is possible to reduce the size of the apparatus for varying the capacity of a scroll compressor and to thus reduce the number of parts.

The present invention discloses an apparatus for varying a capacity of a scroll compressor. The apparatus comprises: a pressure control mechanism for controlling a pressure applied to the back of a orbiting scroll orbiting engaged with a fixed scroll; and a sealing varying mechanism for changing a sealing region of a orbiting scroll wrap and a sealing region of a fixed scroll wrap according to a change in the pressure applied to the back of the orbiting scroll. By this, the capacity of a refrigerant compressed by the fixed scroll and orbiting scroll using a high pressure in a casing can be varied to thus minimize the power consumption.
