[PROBLEM] The invention provides a roll for hot rolling process having various types of more excellent durability performances than conventional rolls, and provides also a method for manufacturing the same. [SOLUTION] A cladding layeris formed on an outer circumference portion of a roll for hot rolling process, where the cladding layercomprises: 0.5 to 0.7% by mass of C, 2.8 to 4.0% by mass of Si, 0.9 to 1.1% by mass of Cu, 1.4 to 1.6% by mass of Mn, 2.7 to 3.3% by mass of Ni, 13.5 to 14.5% by mass of Cr, 0.8 to 1.1% by mass of Mo, 0.9 to 1.1% by mass of Co, and 0.2 to 0.4% by mass of Nb, with a balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and has a thickness of 5 mm or more.

Roll for hot rolling process and method for manufacturing same

A novel briquetting roll having excellent performance such as providing both abrasion resistance and spalling resistance, which can also be manufactured at low cost and in a short period of time, and a method for manufacturing the same, are provided wherein the briquetting rollintegrally has an inner layer materialand an outer layer material, which comprise mutually different materials and are in contact with each other at the respective exterior and interior thereof, and has pocketsformed at the outer circumference of the outer layer material. A chromium-molybdenum forged steel material is used for the inner layer materialand a high-carbon high-speed steel material is used for the outer layer material. The outer layer materialmay be formed on the outside of the inner layer materialby a continuous pouring process.
