There is provided a display apparatus including a display panel including a plurality of pixels connected to a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines, a driving circuit configured to control the display panel to display an image on the display panel, and to output a wake signal having a pulse period according to an operating mode, a backlight unit configured to supply light to the display panel, and a light source driving unit configured to supply a light source power voltage to the backlight unit, wherein the light source driving unit is configured to generate the light source power voltage based on the pulse period of the wake signal.

Display apparatus and method of controlling luminance thereof

An image display apparatus includes a display panel that displays an image and a switching panel operated in a two-dimensional mode or three-dimensional mode such that the image is perceived as a two-dimensional mode or three-dimensional image on the display panel. The switching panel includes a plurality of unit devices. Each of the unit devices includes a first zone disposed at one side of a center axis of the unit device and a second zone disposed at the other side of the center axis. Each of the first zone and the second zone includes a plurality of electrodes, respectively. The plurality of electrodes do not overlap the center axis.

Image display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a backlight unit, a backlight control circuit, sensors, a read-out circuit and a sensor auxiliary circuit. The display panel includes pixels and displays an image. The backlight unit includes a first light source which emits a first light in a infrared light range. The backlight control circuit controls a brightness of the first light source. The sensors sense an external signal and outputs first sensing signals. The read-out circuit outputs the first sensing signals as second sensing signals. The sensor auxiliary circuit compares a maximum value and a minimum value of the second sensing signals and provides a brightness control signal to the backlight control circuit based on the compared difference to control the brightness of the first light source.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel that displays an image using a first light, a light guide part positioned at a front side of the display panel, a backlight unit, an image information collecting part, and a processing part. The light guide part emits a second light different from the first light and guide the second light, and the backlight unit is positioned at a rear side of the display panel to provide the first light to the display panel. The image information collecting part photographs the light emitted from the light guide part to output image information. The processing part processes the image information to generate a coordinate value of a position at which an object provided on the light guide plate is positioned.

The display device may include a touch substrate overlapping the display element and may overlap an external object when the external object provides a touch to the display device. The display device may include a first angle sensor disposed at a first corner of the touch substrate for determining a first touch angle related to the touch. The display device may include a force sensor disposed at the first corner of the touch substrate for determining a distance related to the touch. Touchscreen display device and related method

An impulsively driven liquid crystal display includes a display panel displaying an image in response to a gate signal and a data signal, a panel driving circuit providing the gate signal and the data signal to the display panel using an image signal and a control signal, a backlight unit including a plurality of light sources that blink at once to provide a light to the display panel, and a backlight control circuit. The backlight control circuit automatically detects an existence of text information from a received image signal, and if the text is detected to be present, adjusts the blinking timing of the light sources to correspond with the area on the display panel where the text will be displayed, the adjustment being a function of a liquid crystal response delay time of liquid crystals used in the display panel.
