Provided is an illumination device including a light source, a power supply to supply power to the light source, a housing including one side formed to be open, and including the light source and the power supply in the housing, at least one diffusion cover, disposed on the open side of the housing, through which light from the light source passes, and a power cover, disposed on the open side of the housing, to cover one side of the power supply. The illumination device may minimize a number of components or tools used for installing the illumination device. The illumination device may be readily installed by changing a structure and components included in the illumination device may be readily changed and repaired.

Illumination device

A light source includes first to nth light emitting modules (n is a natural number that is two or more than two) each having a plurality of light emitting elements and connectors that are electrically connected to the light emitting elements. The connector of the first light emitting module is disposed near an angular point (hereinafter, referred to as 'rotational central point') of a region defining the first light emitting module. The light emitting elements and connector of the ilight emitting module has a layout structure defined by a clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation of the light emitting elements and connectors of the first light emitting module by an angle (i&#x2212;1)/n&#xd7;360&#xb0; about the rotational central point, wherein i is a natural number which satisfies 2&#x2266;i&#x2266;n.

Planar light source and backlight unit having the same

Provided is a cover for a recessed lighting apparatus, including: a plurality of profiles, each including a first insertion groove having a coupling member inserted thereinto, a second insertion groove connected to the first insertion groove and formed to have a screw inserted thereinto, and a holding plate formed to have a diffuser plate stably mounted thereon; and an L-shaped coupling member including a body part and a wing part configured to be connected to the body part, inserted into the first insertion groove to be combined with a profile adjacent thereto using a screw, and a lever configured to be separable from a recessed metal housing formed to receive a lighting device therein, the plurality of profiles and the L-shaped coupling member being configured to receive the diffuser plate therein and configured to be separable from the metal housing.

Recessed lighting apparatus and cover therefor

Disclosed herein is a backlight unit equipped with LEDs. The backlight includes an insulating substrate, a plurality of LED packages, an upper heat dissipation plate, and a lower heat dissipation plate. The insulating substrate is provided with predetermined circuit patterns. The LED packages are mounted above the insulating substrate, and are electrically connected to the circuit patterns. The upper heat dissipation plate is formed on the insulating substrate, and is configured to come into contact with the circuit patterns and to dissipate heat. The lower heat dissipation plate is formed on the insulating substrate, and is configured to transmit heat transmitted through the upper heat dissipation plate. The upper heat dissipation plate and the lower heat dissipation plate are connected to each other by at least one through hole, and the through hole and the upper heat dissipation plate have a predetermined area ratio.

Backlight unit equipped with light emitting diodes

A planar light source and a backlight unit including the same are disclosed. The planar light source includes a light emission region formed by arrangements of light emitting devices. The light emission region includes first to nseparate parts each having a center of the light emission region as one vertex (n: natural number of 2 or higher). The first separate part includes light emitting devices arranged two-dimensionally in first and second directions. A pitch in the first direction is different from a pitch in the second direction in at least a portion of the two-dimensional arrangement structure. Light emitting devices of each of the second to nseparate parts have an arrangement structure obtained by a clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation of the arrangement structure of the light emitting devices of the first separate part by an angle of 1/n&#xd7;360&#xb0; about the center of the light emission region.

Planar light source and backlight unit including the same

Light beams are outputted from optical devices and mixed together to obtain uniform white light free from color stains, thereby achieving a backlight unit improved in light mixing feature. In the backlight unit, a surface light source has a reflecting surface with a plurality of optical devices mounted thereon. An optical sheet is disposed in front of the surface light source. A reflecting layer is disposed between the surface light source and the optical sheet and has reflectivity varied by an incident angle of light beams from the optical devices. The backlight unit enables the light beams from the optical devices to be mixed together. The light beams outputted from the optical devices are effectively mixed together by a reflecting layer having reflectively varied by an incident angle of the light beams from the optical devices, thereby achieving uniform white light without color stains.

Backlight unit improved in light mixing feature

An LED backlight unit includes a light source; a board including a circuit pattern printed on an underside thereof, and having at least one mounting hole perforated therein where the light source is inserted; a metal chassis having an inside surface on which an underside of the light source is mounted, and receiving the board to be arranged in parallel to and with a gap from the metal chassis; and a reflector arranged on a top surface of the board to reflect light generated from the light source. The heat radiating path for transferring heat from the light source to the outside can be more simplified to enhance heat radiation efficiency thereby raising product reliability. The number of whole components can be reduced and the board with the light mounted thereon can be replaced with an inexpensive part thereby saving fabrication cost.

LED backlight unit

A backlight unit for a liquid crystal display is provided. The backlight unit includes a surface light source, a diffuser sheet uniformly diffusing incident light from the surface light source, and a light collection sheet collecting light diffused by the diffuser sheet. The surface light source includes a first LED arrangement in which two green LEDs, a red Led, and a blue LED are arranged in this order and a second LED arrangement in which two green LEDs, a blue LED, and a red LED are arranged in this order. The first and second LED arrangements are done along rows or columns, and, in a combination of the first and second LED arrangement, the two green LEDs are surrounded by the red and/or blue LEDs.
