A method of manufacturing a thin film transistor array substrate includes forming a gate pattern on a substrate, forming a gate insulating film on the substrate, forming a source/drain pattern and a semiconductor pattern on the substrate, forming first, second, and third passivation films successively on the substrate. Over the above multi-layered passivation film forming a first photoresist pattern including a first portion formed on part of the drain electrode and on the pixel region, and a second portion. The second portion is thicker than the first portion. Then, patterning the third passivation film using the first photoresist pattern, forming a second photoresist pattern by removing the first portion of the first photoresist pattern, forming a transparent electrode film on the substrate, removing the second photoresist pattern and the transparent electrode film disposed on the second photoresist pattern, and forming a transparent electrode pattern on the second passivation layer.

The 3 mask process comprising, forming a gate pattern on a substrate, forming a gate insulating film on the substrate, forming a source/drain pattern and a semiconductor pattern on the substrate, forming a first, second, and third passivation film successively on the substrate. Over the above multi-layers of the passivation film forming a first photoresist pattern comprising a first portion formed on part of the drain electrode and on the pixel region, and a second portion wherein, the second portion thicker than the first portion, and then patterning the third passivation film using the first photoresist pattern, forming a second photoresist pattern by removing the first portion of the first photoresist pattern, forming a transparent electrode film on the substrate, removing the second photoresist pattern and the transparent electrode film disposed on the second photoresist pattern; and forming a transparent electrode pattern on the second passivation layer.

A planar light source device includes a lower substrate, a cathode electrode a carbon nanotube, an upper substrate, a fluorescent layer, and an anode electrode. The cathode electrode is on the lower substrate. The carbon nanotube is electrically connected to the cathode electrode. The upper substrate faces the lower substrate. The fluorescent layer and the anode electrode are formed on the upper substrate. Therefore, the planar light source device generates light without using mercury.

A power supply apparatus includes an inverter controller, a power transforming part and a connecting part. The power transforming part converts a direct current supplied from the inverter controller into an alternating current to output first and second polarity currents. The connecting part outputs the first and second polarity currents to first and second end portions of a load through first and second terminals, respectively and has a third terminal to receive a sensed signal in response to the first or second polarity currents so as to output the sensed signal. The first terminal is spaced apart from the second terminal by a first insulating distance, and the third terminal is spaced apart from the first or second terminals adjacent to the third terminal by a second insulating distance. Therefore, the sensed signal is independent of the output power, thereby increasing the sensing efficiency.

Power supply apparatus, backlight assembly and liquid crystal display apparatus having the same

A lamp assembly includes a lamp and a lamp driving device. The lamp includes a body and first and second electrodes. The body converts invisible ray generated by a discharge into visible ray, and the electrodes are disposed on the body. The lamp driving device provides the first and second electrodes with first and second driving voltages, respectively, to generate the discharge. The first driving voltage is less than a first critical voltage at which a corona discharge occurs at the first and second electrodes. When the first electrode is electrically connected to a ground, the first critical voltage may be about 1,200 volts. When the second driving voltage has an inverted phase with respect to the first driving voltage, the first critical voltage is about 2,400 volts. An ozone gas may not be generated at the first and second electrodes to prevent the damage of the electrodes.

A device for controlling operation of lamps is provided. The device includes a power outputting part to provide a power voltage to a lamp array having at least one lamp; a temperature sensing part to detect a temperature of the lamp and to generate a temperature signal; and a controlling part to compare the temperature of the lamp with a threshold temperature to generate a first switching signal, in response to the temperature signal, and to output the first switching signal to the power outputting part to feedback control the temperature of the lamp.

Method and apparatus for controlling operation of lamps

Disclosed are a lamp, a method of fabricating the same and an LCD having the same. Electrode is disposed on an outer surface of a lamp tube, and an adhesive member is interposed between the electrode and the lamp tube. The adhesive member is hardened and expanded by means of heating, and adheres the electrode to the lamp tube. Thus, voids generated during forming the electrode on the outer surface is removed, and images having a high quality are obtained.

Disclosed are a power supplying apparatus, a backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus having the same. A control section outputs a switching signal so as to control an output of a constant current supplied to a lamp unit in response to on and/or off signals and a dimming signal and a switching section controls an output of a direct current voltage source in response to the switching signal. A power outputting section provides an alternating current voltage source having a constant voltage to the lamp unit. A sensing section senses variation of a power supplied to the lamp unit and a detecting section compares a sensing signal with a predetermined reference signal to output a detecting signal to the control section, thereby maintaining the constant current to be supplied to the lamp unit. Accordingly, the LCD apparatus may prevent deterioration of an image and damage of circuit thereof.
