A transceiver and a method operating the transceiver are provided. The transceiver includes a first communication module configured to receive a first signal based on a first communication scheme; a second communication module configured to receive a second signal based on a second communication scheme; a reception module having a low-power circuit configured to detect a signal in a frequency band which can be used by the first communication module and the second communication module; and a controller configured to establish channels for the first communication module or the second communication module based on a strength of the signal detected by the reception module.

Transceiver and operation method thereof

A method and apparatus are provided for supporting a large Service Data Unit (SDU) in a receiver of a mobile communication system. The method includes receiving a Radio Link Control (RLC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) from an upper layer; checking a Length Indicator (LI) included in an RLC header of the RLC PDU; if the LI is configured as '0', determining that the received RLC PDU includes an RLC SDU of 2047 bytes, and if the LI is configured as a value other than '0', determining that the received RLC PDU includes an RLC SDU of a size corresponding to the value of the LI; and reforming the RLC SDU, based on the LI.

Method and apparatus for supporting large service data unit in mobile communication system

A device for transmitting data includes a data receiving unit, a channel quality measurement unit, and a modulating unit. The data receiving unit is configured to receive first transmission data for a first terminal and second transmission data for a second terminal. The channel quality measurement unit is configured to measure a first reception sensitivity of a channel connected to the first terminal and to measure a second reception sensitivity of a channel connected to the second terminal, and a modulating unit configured to determine a modulation scheme based on the first and second reception sensitivities, to encode the first transmission data and the second transmission data according to the determined modulation scheme to obtain modulated data, and to transmit the modulated data to the first and second terminals.
