An air conditioner includes a housing having a suction port and a discharge port, a main fan configured to draw air into the housing through the suction port and discharge air from the housing through the discharge port, an auxiliary fan configured to draw, into the housing, air discharged by the main fan and a controller configured to control a rotational speed of the auxiliary fan to change a direction in which air is discharged from the housing.

Disclosed herein is an air conditioner. The air conditioner includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet, a blade having a plurality of discharge holes and provided to discharge air through the plurality of discharge holes, a first opening formed between one side of the blade near the inlet and the housing when the blade discharges air through the plurality of discharge holes, and a second opening formed between the housing and the other side opposite to the one side of the blade when the blade discharges air through the plurality of discharge holes.

The air conditioner includes a housing including an air discharge plate having a plurality of holes and an outlet, a heat exchanger located inside the housing, a blower fan configured to blow air heat-exchanged with the heat exchanger toward the air discharge plate or the outlet, a blade rotating between a guide position to guide a direction of air blown from the blower fan and discharged through the outlet and a closing position to close the outlet, wherein the blade includes a first blade and a second blade spaced apart from the first blade and configured to guide air blown from the blower fan toward the air discharge plate when the first blade is located at the closing position.

An air conditioner according to an aspect of the present invention includes a housing arranged to be mounted on or embedded in a ceiling, a cover panel coupled to a lower portion of the housing, the cover panel including an inlet and an outlet, a blower fan configured to draw in air into the housing through the inlet and discharge air out of the housing through the outlet and a blade configured to open and close the outlet, the blade including a plurality of through holes to control the air discharged out of the housing through the outlet while the blade closes the outlet. With this structure, the air conditioner can discharge air in various ways by varying the wind direction, the wind speed, and the air amount of the discharged air.

An air conditioner (AC) indoor unit includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet; a heat exchanger arranged inside the housing; a blower fan for sucking in air at the inlet to be subject to heat exchange with the heat exchanger, and discharging the heat-exchanged air out of the outlet; and an air flow control device for controlling an air flow discharged from the outlet by sucking in air around the outlet. The AC indoor unit may control the direction of a discharged air flow without a conventional blade structure, thereby increasing an amount of discharged air, reducing circulation noise, and enabling design differentiation.
