The present invention relates to a battery cell that can include an electrode assembly configured with two or more unit stacks connected to each other in series or in parallel, a battery case configured to receive the electrode assembly therein, and an insulative protection member configured to protect an electrode tab portion of the unit stacks. The overall length of the battery case can be three or more times the overall width of the battery case. A positive electrode lead and a negative electrode lead can extend outwards from the battery case protruding in opposite directions. A plurality of unit stacks can be used to implement a long battery cell, and a connection portion at which the plurality of unit stacks are connected is reinforced to improve safety of the battery cell.

The present invention relates to a battery module and a battery pack, and provides airtightness, particularly, a sealing property for a high voltage (HV) terminal, thereby preventing the penetration of moisture from the outside and increasing the durability of the battery pack.

A battery pack includes a battery cell stack formed by a plurality of stacked battery cells, a battery module housing configured to wrap the other outer surfaces of the battery cell stack excluding a first surface and a second surface, from which electrode leads protrude, a water tank configured to supply a coolant to the battery cell or the battery module housing, and a battery pack case configured to receive a plurality of battery module housings. The battery pack case includes a pack case space portion located adjacent to the first surface and a crossbeam located adjacent to the second surface, whereby, when fire breaks out in the battery cell, it is possible to rapidly and accurately prevent spread of flames of the ignited battery cell.

A battery module may include a plurality of battery cells that are stacked on each other; and a circuit module which is electrically connected to the plurality of battery cells and includes a plate-shaped circuit part having a width and a length. The circuit part may be disposed between any one pair of battery cells of the plurality of battery cells in a state in which a width direction of the circuit part is parallel to a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the plurality of battery cells are stacked.
