An apparatus and method for providing augmented reality-based realistic experience. The apparatus for providing augmented reality-based realistic experience includes a hardware unit and a software processing unit. The hardware unit includes a mirror configured to have a reflective characteristic and a transmissive characteristic, a display panel configured to present an image of an augmented reality entity, and a sensor configured to acquire information about a user. The software processing unit presents the augmented reality entity via the display panel based on the information about the user from the hardware unit after performing color compensation on the color of the augmented reality entity.

Apparatus and method for providing augmented reality-based realistic experience

Disclosed herein is a head-up display apparatus for a vehicle. The head-up display includes an information analysis unit, a first information determination unit, a second information determination unit, and an information display unit. The information analysis unit collects vehicle state information, driver state information, driving environment state information, driver gaze information, individual characteristic information and common characteristic information from a plurality of information collection units, and analyzes the collected information. The first information determination unit prioritizes the vehicle state information, the driver state information, and the driving environment state information. The second information determination unit determines a driver's field of view based on driver field of view information and driver individual and common characteristic information. The information display unit changes information to be displayed to the driver based on priorities and the driver's field of view, and then displays the changed information.

Head-up display apparatus and method for vehicle

Disclosed herein is an automotive augmented reality HUD apparatus and method, which can adaptively change a location and a direction based on the visual field of a driver, thus reducing errors in location matching between virtual object information and real-world information. The automotive augmented reality HUD apparatus includes a viewing angle calculation unit for estimating a line-of-sight direction of a driver using a face direction, detected based on face images of the driver, and center positions of pupils and calculating a viewing angle. A matching unit matches a location of real-world information located in front of a driver's seat with a location of corresponding virtual object information located in front of the driver's seat, based on the line-of-sight direction and the viewing angle. A display unit displays results of the matching by the matching unit, wherein the display unit enables rotation thereof and location change thereof.
