An electronic device includes a display layer and a sensor layer on the display layer. The sensor layer includes an electrode and a cross electrode. The electrode includes a plurality of first portions spaced from each other in a first direction and a plurality of second portions between the plurality of first portions. The cross electrode includes a plurality of first cross portions spaced from each other in a second direction crossing the first direction and a plurality of second cross portions between the plurality of first cross portions. The second portion includes a first pattern portion extending in the first direction and a plurality of second pattern portions extending in the second direction. A first opening is in the plurality of first portions, a second opening is in the first pattern portion, and a size of the first opening is greater than a size of the second opening.

Electronic device

An electronic device includes a display layer, a sensor layer disposed on the display layer and including a first sensing pattern and a second sensing pattern spaced apart from the first sensing pattern. The first sensing pattern includes a first-first group including a first-first pattern and a first-second pattern spaced apart from the first-first pattern in a first oblique direction, a first-second group including a first-third pattern and a first-fourth pattern spaced apart from the first-third pattern in a second oblique direction crossing the first oblique direction. An electronic device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; an input sensor on the display panel and comprising a first sensing electrode and a second sensing electrode that is electrically insulated from the first sensing electrode, the input sensor being configured to sense a first input in a first mode and to sense a second input in a second mode; and an input device configured to provide the second input to the input sensor, wherein at least one of the first or second sensing electrodes comprises: a main mesh pattern in a crossing area in which the first and second sensing electrodes cross each other; and a sub mesh pattern in a non-crossing area on which the first and second sensing electrodes do not cross each other and which has a size different from that of the main mesh pattern.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a first substrate and an opposing second substrate; a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode disposed in a pixel area, on the first substrate, and including a plurality of branch electrodes; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second electrodes. Branches electrode of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are interlaced. The first pixel electrode has an extension disposed adjacent to the center of the pixel area, and a minimum distance between the extension and the adjacent branch electrode is different from an average minimum between the adjacent branch electrodes.

A gate driver that comprises n shift registers, wherein n is an integer equal to or larger than 1, each of the n shift registers includes; a start stage which outputs a gate signal and starts its operation in response to a start signal, and a plurality of subsequent stages which are connected to each other in sequence, and which sequentially output a plurality of gate signals in response to a signal output from the start stage, wherein at least one stage of the plurality of subsequent stages is reset by the start signal.

Gate driver and display apparatus having the same

A liquid crystal display including a pixel electrode; a gate line electrically connected to the pixel electrode through a thin film transistor of a plurality of thin film transistors; and a pair of first and second data lines disposed perpendicular to the gate line and facing each other with respect to the pixel electrode. Two neighboring pixel electrodes, which neighbor each other in a column direction, are electrically connected to the first and second data lines through thin film transistors of the plurality of thin film transistors, respectively. Each pixel electrode includes a first side disposed parallel to the gate line and a second side disposed parallel to the data lines, the second side having a length which is shorter than a length of the first side, and wherein a plurality of data voltages applied to a single data line of the pair of data lines have the same polarity during a period of one frame.

A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween. First and second gate lines are disposed on the first substrate. First and second data lines, and a power line are disposed on the first substrate. A first switching element is connected to the first gate line and the first data line, a second switching element is connected to the first gate line and the power line, a third switching element is connected to the second gate line and the second data line, a first pixel electrode is connected to the first switching element, a second pixel electrode is connected to the second switching element, a third pixel electrode is connected to the second switching element, and a fourth pixel electrode is connected to the third switching element, and a gate-on voltage can be simultaneously applied to the first and second gate lines.

A liquid crystal display device includes a substrate, a gate line, first and second data lines, a first power line, first, second, third and fourth switching elements, and first, second, third and fourth pixel electrodes. The first switching element is connected to the gate line and the first data line. The second switching element is connected to the gate line and the first power line. The third switching element is connected to the gate line and the second data line. The fourth switching element is connected to the gate line and the first power line. The first to fourth pixel electrodes are connected to the first to fourth switching elements, respectively. Thus, a light leakage may be prevented and an aperture ratio of a display substrate may be enhanced.

Liquid crystal display device

A display substrate includes a first shield pattern, a second shield pattern and a transparent electrode. The first shield pattern is disposed adjacent to a first data line. The second shield pattern is disposed adjacent to a second data line to face the first data line. The transparent electrode includes a first pixel electrode coupled to the first data line and the first shield pattern, and a second pixel electrode coupled to a first power line and the second shield pattern. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are disposed in an alternating arrangement. The transparent electrode is partially overlapped with at least one of the first data line or the second data line. In this approach, when a black image is displayed, light leakage can be prevented.

Display substrate, method of manufacturing the same and display panel having the same

A first slit pattern is formed in a display substrate and a display panel of vertical alignment mode having the display substrate. The first slit pattern includes slits, a pair of projections and a pair of notches. A divergence point where the slits meet each other and an incision portion of the slits have the same function as the pair of projections in the generation of a singular point of liquid crystal. A contact hole exposing a part of an output electrode of a switching element is formed at a protective layer of an array substrate. A step recess is formed at a protective layer corresponding to a storage electrode, a divergence point of the slits is arranged to correspond to the storage electrode. The singular point of the liquid crystal is induced to occur at a regular position, and thus afterimages and spots can be prevented.

Display panel having a domain divider

A liquid crystal display device includes; a plurality of data lines disposed on a substrate, a plurality of gate lines disposed substantially perpendicular to the data lines, wherein the data lines and the gate lines together surround a plurality of pixel regions, a plurality of power supplying lines disposed substantially parallel to the data lines, a plurality of pixel electrode pairs, wherein each of the pixel electrode pairs includes a first and a second pixel electrode respectively disposed in each pixel region, and a pixel driving circuit including at least one transistor and a plurality of storage capacitors in each pixel region, wherein the pixel electrode pairs have portions where the pixel electrode pairs and at least one of the plurality of data lines and the plurality of power supplying lines are vertically aligned with each other, and the storage capacitors are disposed at the vertically aligned portions.

Liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display (LCD), according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, includes a first pixel formed between the first and second gate lines, the first and the second data lines, a first subpixel configured to have applied thereto a first data voltage and a second subpixel configured to have applied thereto a second data voltage lower than the first data voltage, a second pixel formed between the second and third gate lines, the first and second data lines, and having a third subpixel configured to have applied thereto a third data voltage and a fourth subpixel configured to have applied thereto a fourth data voltage lower than the third data voltage. The first subpixel and the third subpixel are connected to a first thin film transistor and a third thin film transistor respectively, the first thin film transistor and the third thin film transistor have source electrodes connected to the first data line and the second data line respectively, and each of the source electrodes has an open portion surrounding a portion of a drain electrode, and wherein an open direction of the source electrode of the first thin film transistor is opposite to an open direction of the source electrode of the third thin film transistor.

Liquid crystal display having reduced kickback effect

Disclosed are a liquid crystal display device and a method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display device includes a first insulating substrate, a gate line and a data line formed on the first insulating substrate and crossing each other, a first pixel electrode formed on the first insulating substrate and including a first part and a second part which are physically separated, a second pixel electrode formed on the first insulating substrate and forming an electric field with the first pixel electrode, a connection bridge including at least one conductive layer and electrically connecting the first part with the second part through a contact hole, and at least one insulating layer positioned between the first pixel electrode and the connection bridge, wherein the contact hole is formed in the at least one insulating layer.
