A display device including a first substrate comprising a first surface, a second substrate overlapping the first substrate and including a second surface overlapping the first surface, a display unit between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a supporting assistance member disposed between the first surface and the second surface, in which the supporting assistance member includes a first region and a second region, at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate includes a third region and a fourth region, transmittance of the first region is higher than transmittance of the second region, transmittance of the third region is higher than transmittance of the fourth region, and the second region surrounds the first region, the fourth region surrounds the third region, and the first region and the third region overlap each other.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display includes: a first substrate including a first through-hole; a second substrate facing the first substrate and including a second through-hole corresponding to the first through-hole; a sealant coupling the first substrate and the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a spacer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a supporting assistance member including a third through-hole connected to the first through-hole and the second through-hole, wherein the supporting assistance member includes a first supporting assistance member made with the same material as the spacer.

An array substrate of an LCD having: a gate line formed along a first direction; a data line formed along a second direction crossing the first direction; first and second pixel electrodes spaced apart from each other; a thin-film transistor includes a gate electrode connected to the gate line; a source electrode connected to the data line and partially overlapping the second pixel electrode; and a drain electrode connected to the first pixel electrode spaced apart from the second pixel electrode along the second direction. The source electrode or the gate electrode overlaps the second pixel electrode but the drain electrode does not overlap the second pixel electrode. Electrical coupling between the first and second pixel electrodes are avoided with such configuration.

Array substrate and display panel having the same

A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other, common voltage wiring disposed on the first substrate and transmitting a common voltage, a first insulating layer disposed on the common voltage wiring, a common electrode disposed on a whole surface of the second substrate, a first conductive member disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and electrically connecting the common electrode and the common voltage wiring to each other, and a sealant combining the first substrate and the second substrate. The first insulating layer includes a first contact hole exposing a first portion of the common voltage wiring and a plurality of a second contact hole exposing a second portion of the common voltage wiring, the second contact hole having a smaller area than the first contact hole.

Liquid crystal display with electrostatic-resistant wirings

A panel assembly for a display device and a display device having the panel assembly are provided. The panel assembly for a display device includes a display region including a plurality of pixels and most of display signal lines connected to the pixels, a plurality of repair lines disposed in a shape of a ring in a peripheral region outside of the display region, and first to third auxiliary repair lines disposed in the peripheral region in parallel to data lines. An additional auxiliary repair line is provided at a right side of each of the data driving IC regions. By doing so, occurrence of disconnection and success in repairing the disconnected data lines of a display penal which is mounted in a COG scheme is tested by using a TCP type of test unit, so that it is possible to greatly reduce production costs involved in the COG type test unit.

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes first and second substrates, a liquid crystal layer, a sealing member, and first and second spacers. The first substrate includes a first display part having a pixel electrode formed thereon. The second substrate includes a second display part having a common electrode. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. The seal line includes a liquid crystal inlet. The first spacer is disposed between the first and second display parts. The second spacer is disposed near the liquid crystal inlet. The second and third spacers prevent the cell gap of the liquid crystal inlet from being narrowed, so that a liquid crystal material may be injected easily completely. Thus, the liquid crystal material is completely filled to enhance the display quality.

A liquid crystal display substrate, comprising a first substrate including at least one substantial region, a dummy region adjacent the at least one substantial region, a plurality of first spacers and a first sealant positioned in the at least one substantial region, and a plurality of second spacers and a second sealant positioned in the dummy region, wherein each of the plurality of second spacers are spaced apart from one another at a uniform distance, and the second sealant is capable of being positioned in at least one open area created by spacing the second spacers apart from one another.
