A plasma display panel includes a first substrate, on which discharge sustain electrodes are formed, and an opposing second substrate, on which address electrodes are aligned in a first direction. Barrier ribs between the substrates define a plurality of discharge cells within which phosphor layers are formed. The display electrodes have bus electrodes, forming a corresponding pair within each of the discharge cells, and extension electrodes, extending from the bus electrodes into each of the discharge cells to form an opposing pair. A pair of the display electrodes corresponding to each of the discharge cells forms a first gap and a second gap having different distances from each other between the opposing extension electrodes, and forms a third gap between the bus electrodes. The second gap is longer than the first gap, and the third gap is longer than the second gap.

A plasma display panel includes a red phosphor layer, a green phosphor layer, and a blue phosphor layer. The thickness of the red phosphor layer comprises Y(V,P)O:Eu and (Y,Gd)BO:Eu coated on a barrier rib and is satisfied by the following condition: when Dis (S&#x2212;2L)/S, D&#x2267;0.64, S being a distance between barrier ribs at half the height of the barrier rib; and L being a side thickness at half the height of the barrier rib of the phosphor layer coated on the barrier rib.

Noise exiting from a plasma display device is effectively reduced and a degree of freedom of design is increased according to a plasma display device that includes a base chassis, a PDP adhered to the base chassis, a PDP driving circuit board adhered to the base chassis opposite to the PDP, a front cover disposed in front of the PDP, a rear cover having a plurality of ventilation holes for heat radiation, the rear cover being disposed at the rear of the base chassis and covering the base chassis, and a noise-shielding member for covering the plurality of ventilation holes from front or rear thereof, such that noise generated inside of the device is reflected or diffracted.
