The present disclosure provides a method and a receiver for detecting synchronization in a Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) system. The receiver includes a reception unit that receives a synchronization signal including an interference signal from at least one adjacent cell; and a synchronization detector that cancels the interference signal included in the synchronization signal based on a serial interference cancellation, and detects the synchronization based on the synchronization signal, from which the interference signal is canceled.

Receiver and method for detecting synchronization in wireless communication system

A communication device and a method of controlling the same. The communication device includes at least one receiver configured to connect to a first antenna for receiving a first signal and a second antenna for receiving a second signal; and a processor electrically coupled to the at least one receiver, wherein the processor is configured to measure received signal strengths of the first signal and the second signal based on calibration operation for the first antenna and the second antenna, select one of the first antenna and the second antenna based on the measured received signal strengths, and control the at least one receiver to receive a signal through the selected one of the first antenna and the second antenna.

A method and apparatus of performing channel estimation in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes determining a channel response value of a midamble sequence included in a downlink slot, detecting a first channel response value of a window allocated to a user and a second channel response value of a window allocated to at least one other user based on the channel response value of the midamble sequence, determining whether a Base Station (BS) of a current cell uses beamforming based on the first and second channel response values, and combining the first and second channel response values and using the combined channel response value for signal detection if it is determined that the BS does not use beamforming.
