A display device includes a panel displaying an image using image data and including a common electrode to which a common voltage is applied; a timing controller providing the image data to the panel and outputting a correction voltage corresponding to the image data; and a power supply unit generating a compensation voltage using a panel common voltage and the correction voltage and providing the compensation voltage to the panel, wherein the panel common voltage is a voltage measuring the common voltage applied to the panel.

A liquid crystal display and a method for driving the same, which improve image quality by increasing data line charge speed, are provided. In the display, a preparatory charging controller receives current image data to be provided to m current pixels of an nth horizontal line and a current vertical polarity-reversal control signal for vertically controlling polarities of the current image data, compares current image data with previous data provided to m corresponding previous pixels of an n&#x2212;1th horizontal line, compares the current control signal with a previous one, and determines a logic value of a preparatory charging control signal based on the comparison. A data driver performs either a first operation for connecting and separating m data lines connected respectively to m current pixels, or a second operation for maintaining the m data lines separated, according to the logic value and provides the current data to the m pixels.

Liquid crystal display device and method for driving the same

A driving circuit of a liquid crystal display device and a driving method of the same are discussed. A driving circuit of a liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel comprising pixel cells having only circuit pixels, respectively, aligned in a matrix type corresponding to full resolution, the liquid crystal panel disposed in a matrix type to have resolution that is lower than the full resolution in a predetermined ratio; a panel driving unit driving entire pixel cells provided in the liquid crystal panel to display images, the panel driving unit converting and outputting touch sensing signals transmitted from the pixel cells having the touch sensor circuits into digital signals; and a sensing system calculating touch coordinates from the converted touch sensing signals.
