Techniques for controlling an amount of an acid gas in a production fluid includes operating a completion assembly that includes a production tubular, a first zone completion assembly, and a second zone completion assembly. The techniques include circulating a first formation fluid into the production tubular with a first flow control valve; circulating a second formation fluid into the production tubular with a second flow control valve; determining an amount or percentage of an acid gas in a production fluid that includes a mixture of the first and second formation fluids; comparing the determined amount of percentage to a threshold value; and modulating at least one of the first or second flow control valves in response to the comparison so that the production fluid meets the threshold value of the amount or percentage of the acid gas.

Reducing an acid gas concentration in well production

A packer couples a first tubing and a second tubing while sealing against a wall of a wellbore formed in a subterranean formation. A first hydrocarbon stream is flowed across the packer from the surface through the first tubing to a downhole location. The first hydrocarbon stream has a hydrogen sulfide content that is less than a hydrogen sulfide content of downhole fluids present in the subterranean formation. A second hydrocarbon stream is flowed across the packer from the downhole location through the second tubing to the surface.

Provided are embodiments for hydrocarbon reservoir development that include the following: identifying proposed well locations within a reservoir boundary, for each location, developing a well plan by: (a) identifying layers of the reservoir located below the proposed location; (b) iteratively assessing the layers (from deepest to shallowest) to identify a deepest 'suitable' layer that is not dry, congested, or unsuitable for gas production; and (c) performing the following for the identified layer and the location: (i) determining a borehole configuration for the location; (ii) determining a completion type for the location; and (iii) determining a stimulation treatment for the location, where a well plan for the location (e.g., for use in developing the reservoir) is generated that specifies some or all of a well location, the target layer, a borehole configuration, a completion type, and a stimulation treatment that corresponds to those determined for the proposed well location.
