A method for electronic calibration of a magnetic particle imaging system is provided by proposing a coded calibration scene that contains multiple nanoparticle samples distributed randomly or pseudo-randomly inside a volume of the coded calibration scene where nanoparticle positions are changed virtually multiple times to create different calibration scenes. Virtual effect is created with current carrying electromagnets surrounding the nanoparticle samples. The method comprises: placing a plurality of nanoparticle samples inside a calibration scene; surrounding the plurality of nanoparticle samples with one or more electromagnets; applying a current to the one or more electromagnets to cause a magnetic field offset at a desired amplitude to virtually move the plurality of nanoparticle samples to a desired position; generating a system matrix with compressed sensing methods by using measurements taken for different current excitations of the one or more electromagnets, wherein the plurality of nanoparticles samples are virtually in different positions.

Method for electronic calibration of magnetic particle imaging system

A method to reconstruct images from raw MRI data, and recover an image by solving an optimization problem. Hence, the method is an image reconstruction system for image recovery contrary to similar methods, the method reconstructs all images using both joint and individual objective functions. The method includes: acquiring with the MRI system, multiple images under an influence of different contrast mechanisms, wherein the different contrast mechanisms belong to a same anatomy, solving an optimization problem with an optimization algorithm using both joint and individual objective functions simultaneously for each of multiple image contrasts or a subset of the multiple image contrasts, to reconstruct the multiple images from acquired data.

Simultaneous use of joint and individual information terms in multicontrast compressive sensing reconstruction

An open bore coil system enabling electronic steering and rotation of a Field Free Line (FFL) inside a large volume. An FFL is generated by placing two parallel coil pairs (fed with alternating current directions) side by side. Using two of these coil groups, the FFL can be rotated in the plane perpendicular to the coil axes. The FFL can be translated in the rotation plane of the FFL using a coil pair placed on the same axis with the other coils. It can also be translated in the perpendicular plane by asymmetrical coil excitation. As all the coils in the system are parallel, the imaged object can be reached from the sides during imaging.
