A torque converter that is downsized in an axial direction utilizing existing space is provided. A pump impeller, a turbine runner, a lockup clutch, an elastic damper, and a planetary unit are held in a housing. A torsional vibration damping device is arranged concentrically with the lockup clutch. An input element is arranged concentrically with the lockup clutch while being connected to the lockup clutch and a drive member. An output element is connected to a driven member.

Torque converter having torsional vibration damping device

A torsional vibration reducing device is provided. The torsional vibration reducing device includes a rotating body, a plurality of rolling bodies, and a connection member. The connection member connects the plurality of rolling bodies, and at least two contact portions are positioned on an inner surface of each of the plurality of accommodating portions, a portion of an outer peripheral surface of each of the plurality of rolling bodies being positioned in each of the plurality of accommodating portions, and the outer peripheral surface of each of the plurality of rolling bodies being configured to come into point contact with the contact portions in the circumferential direction of the rotating body.

Torsional vibration reducing device

A torque converter in which a torsional vibration damping device is fastened firmly to a turbine hub in such a manner that a hermeticity test can be carried out easily. In the torque converter, a turbine runner is fixed to the turbine hub through a first rivet. The torsional vibration damping device is assembled as a unit independent from the turbine hub and a rolling mass is held in a casing liquid-tightly. The torsional vibration damping device and the driven member are fixed to the turbine hub through a second rivet.

A vibration damping device in which a covering member can be fixed firmly to a rotary member by a rivet is provided. In the vibration damping device, a pendulum massis held in a rotary member, and a casingis fixed to the rotary memberby a rivet. The rivetcomprises a head, a first shaftand a second shaft. The first shaftpenetrates through a first casing member, the rotary memberand the second casing member, and a tail thereof is expanded to fasten those members. The second shaftpenetrates through a driven member, and a tail thereof is expanded to fasten the driven member to the rotary member
