Articulating bed with an extendable inset base

An articulating bed incorporates a support frame with a head end, a foot end and having side frame members. A carriage having a seat support is carried by the frame, mounted with wheels engaging the side frame members to translate from a first position through a range progressing toward the head end to a fully translated position. An upper body support is rotatably connected to the carriage and carries a mattress support. At least one telescoping rotation strut is attached at a first end and rotates through an axle pivotally attached to the side frame members. The telescoping rotation strut engages at a second end the upper body support. At least one fixed length rotation arm is carried at a first end by a rotating tube and pivotally attaches to the upper body support at a second end. The rotating tube is mounted on wheels constrained in a track and translates laterally in the track to contact a track end proximate the head end of the frame at a termination of a first range of motion. The telescoping strut approaches a vertical orientation and transfers reaction forces resulting from translation of the carriage to the fixed length rotation arm, whereupon the telescoping rotations struts extend.

An invalid dog lift and support device employs a lever mounted on spread wheels supported by retractable legs with a tanslatable harness mount received on the lever. A telescoping handle is received in an end of the lever distal from the legs. The harness mount is rotatable to position a dog, supported in harnesses suspended form the harness mount, parallel to or transvers to the lever. The harness mount is translatable on the lever from a position proximate the legs to a position distal from the legs.

Wheeled transport and support device

An articulating bed incorporates a support frame with a head end rail, a foot end rail and having side frame rails. An upper body support frame is rotatably connected to a first cross member in the frame. An elevating assembly for the upper body support frame has two angled arms attached to the first cross member with hinges. A first pair of wheels is attached to the angled arms at a vertex and a second pair of wheels attached at an end of the arms distal from the hinges. A first actuator is attached from the head end rail to a cross brace extending between the angled arms. The elevating assembly has a first range of motion in which the first pair of wheels are in contact with longitudinal rails in the upper body support and a second range of motion in which the second pair of wheels are in contact with the longitudinal rails.

Double roller compact profile actuation system for an adjustable bed

An articulating bed incorporates a frame having side frame members with a first fixed channel extending laterally between the frame side members and a second fixed channel extending laterally between the frame side members. A first rotatable channel open toward a head of the bed is engaged to the first fixed channel with first hinges. An upper body support panel is removably engaged in the first rotatable channel and an upper body panel support frame extends from the first rotatable channel coplanar with a lower flange to support the upper body panel. A second rotatable channel open toward the foot of the bed is engaged to the second fixed channel with second hinges. A thigh support panel is removably engaged in the second rotatable channel and a thigh panel support frame extends from the second rotatable channel coplanar with a lower flange of the second rotatable channel to support the thigh panel. A seat panel is removably engaged between the first fixed channel and second fixed channel.

Articulating bed structure with narrow frame for dissasembly

An articulating bed incorporates a support frame with a head end. Side frame members support and carry a carriage having a seat support. The carriage is mounted with wheels engaging the side frame members to translate from a first position through a range progressing toward the head end to a fully translated position. A first elevating frame rotates about an axle attached to the side frame members with the first elevating frame concealed within a depth profile of the side frame members in an unrotated position. First rollers carried by the carriage engage lower profile surfaces of the elevating frame and a second roller carried by the first elevating frame engages a lower surface of an upper body support pivotally attached to the seat support. Translation of the carriage from the first position to the fully translated position rotates the first elevating frame about the axle to articulate the upper body support.
