An electrical connector assembly includes a female connector () and a male connector () mating with each other. Each of the female connector and the male connector includes a housing () and a number of terminals () secured in the housing. The housing has a number of channels and a number of standoffs () arranged alternately along a lengthwise direction, and a number of indentations () each defined beside a corresponding standoff. Two adjacent standoffs are staggered. Each terminal has a contacting section. The contacting sections of the terminals of the female connector contact with those of the terminals of the male connector. The standoffs of the male connector engage with the indentations of the female connector.

Electrical connector assembly for blind mating for board to board use

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a mating slot, a number of contacts and a pair of metal hold downs fastened in the insulative housing. Each contact includes a contacting portion extending into the mating slot. Each metal hold down includes a first portion, a second portion perpendicular to the first portion and a connecting portion connecting the first portion and the second portion. The first portion defines a first hole, the second portion defines a second hole for maintaining solders, and the connecting portion defines a third hole connecting the first hole and the second hole. The first portion and the connecting portion are insert molded in the insulative housing with material of the insulative housing filling in the first and the third holes.

Board to board connector with enhanced metal locking features

A card connector includes a main housing having a base portion, a pair of side walls and a bottom wall connecting with said base portion and side walls thereby defining a receiving cavity therebetween. A multiple groups of contact sets comprise contacting portions projecting into the receiving cavity. A metallic shell covers a top side of the main housing and defines an insertion opening together with the main housing at a front end thereof. A pair of guiders are floatably assembled on the bottom wall and respectively located beside the side walls. Each guider has a spring member disposed thereunder. A pair of locking devices are located at opposite sides of the insertion opening. Each locking device has a stopping section detachably supporting the guider under so as to prevent unmated card to be inserted. If an appropriate size card is inserted it will actuate the locking devices to cause the guiders to become deflectable by that card. If an inappropriate size card is inserted it will not actuate the locking devices and the guiders will undeflectable and will block that card.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a metal shell enclosing the insulative housing. The metal shell includes a top wall defining a pair of slits each extending along a transverse direction, a cutout communicating with the slits and a L-shaped cantilevered arm residing in the slits and the cutout. The cantilevered arm includes a base portion protruding along the transverse direction and situated between the pair of slits and a deformable arm extending into the cutout along a mating direction perpendicular to the transverse direction. The deformable arm comprises a locking protrusion bent upwardly for locking with a notch of a mateable connector.

A card connector includes a main housing having a base portion, a pair of side walls and a bottom wall connecting with the base portion and side walls thereby defining a receiving cavity. Multiple groups of contact sets comprise at least one grounding contact. The contact sets have contacting portions projecting into the receiving cavity. A metallic shell covers a top side of the main housing and defines an insertion opening together with the main housing. A pair of guiders are floatably assembled on opposite sides of the insertion opening for guiding different sized cards. A grounding plate which is attached to a bottom side of the main housing, comprises a pair of flexible tangs respectively pressing against a bottom side of the guiders. The grounding plate further comprises a grounding section electrically contacting with the at least one grounding contact so as to establish a grounding path.

Card connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a number of electrical contacts secured to the insulative housing. Each of the contacts includes a flat plate engaging with the insulative housing, a spring arm bending and extending upwardly from a side edge of the flat plate and a solder tail extending downwardly from a lower portion of the flat plate. The spring arm has a first vertical portion connected with the body plate, an arc portion bending and extending upwardly from the first vertical portion, and a contact portion at a free end of the spring arm. Said arc portion and contact portion are located at same side of the first vertical portion.

High density electrical connector

A card connector () includes an insulating housing () defining a card receiving space; a set of first contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with XD card, and the first contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of second contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with SD card, the second contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of third contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with MS card, the third contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); and at least two of the grounding contacts commonly grounded.

Compact multi-function card connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a metal shell enclosing the insulative housing. The metal shell includes a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls connecting the top wall and the bottom wall to jointly form a receiving space to accommodate the insulative housing. The top wall includes a resilient arm having two fixed distal ends and a locking protrusion located between the two fixed distal ends. The locking protrusion extends beyond a top surface of the top wall for deformably locking with a notch of a mateable connector. The resilient arm is configured in a fixed ended beam manner so as to achieve suitable flexibility and rigidity.

A card connector () includes an insulative housing defining a card receiving space; a plurality of contacts () supported by the insulative housing and accommodated in the card receiving space, said the plurality of contacts divided into two sets and arranged along a longitudinal direction, said contacts adapted for mating with a first type card and a second type card, respectively; and an ejecting mechanism () mounted to the insulative housing, the ejecting mechanism () including a first slider (), a second slider ('), a follower () and a spring (), the first slider mounted to the second slider and capable of moving on the second slider to carry one of the two cards, and the first slider and the second slider together to carry the other of the two card.

Multi-function card connector

An electrical connector is for electrically connecting an electronic package with a circuit substrate. The connector includes a housing having a plurality of conductive terminals, a fastening device including a load plate for pressing the electronic package and a retaining member for securing the load plate. The load plate defines a first edge, a second edge opposite to the first edge, a third edge pivoted to the fastening device and a fourth edge adjacent to the first edge and the second edge. The four edges jointly define an opening in the middle thereof with the first and second edges each having a pressing portion. Corners of the opening near the third edge extend upwardly. During the rotation of the load plate, the pressing portions will abut against the electronic package prior to the corners near the third edge, and thereby prevent the corners from abutting against the electronic package.
