A method and system for a base station (BS) configured for sharing among a plurality of public land mobile networks (PLMNs), and for providing open radio access and/or closed subscriber group (CSG) radio access for user equipment devices (UEs) served. The BS may make a determination of which PLMNs have enabled CSG and which have not, and may transmit a request to a core network of each PLMN to set up an interface connection with each. Based on the determination, the request may either include information for configuring CSG radio access, or information for configuring only open radio access. For each PLMN having CSG enabled, the interface connection may be established for CSG radio access for UEs associated with PLMNs having CSG enabled. For each PLMN not having CSG enabled, the interface connection may be established for only open radio access for UEs associated with PLMNs without CSG enabled.

Systems and methods of operating a wireless communication system are provided. A network node can receive a request from the wireless device to establish communication with the first access node. A network node can receive an indication from an authorization node that a wireless device is not authorized to communicate with a first access node. The network node can transmit a message denying the request to establish communication with the first access node to the wireless device based on the indication from the authorization node. The network node can receive a request from the wireless device to establish communication with a second access node. The network node can determine that the wireless device is authorized to establish communication with the second access node. The network node can transmit a message granting the request to establish communication with the second access node to the wireless device.

A video surveillance system has an encoder receiving a video signal from a camera and generating real-time sequenced packets for streaming to a remote monitoring location. A transmit buffer is coupled to the encoder for buffering the sequenced packets. A transmit controller transmits an original packet stream comprising the sequenced packets. The transmit controller is responsive to retransmission requests to transmit sequenced packets from the transmit buffer as a retransmission stream. A receive controller is provided at the monitoring location for receiving the original packet stream and detecting missing packets from the original packet stream to transmit corresponding retransmission requests to the transmit controller for the missing packets. A decoder is responsive to the original packet stream to generate a reproduced video signal for viewing at the monitoring location. A recorder stores recorded video responsive to the original packet stream and the retransmission stream. The retransmission stream includes sequenced packets that are received too late to be used by the decoder for live reproduction, so that the recorded video provides a higher quality reproduced video signal than the reproduced video signal viewed in real-time at the monitoring location.

Several embodiments of an IMS communications network are disclosed. In one embodiment, the network comprises a plurality of dispatch application servers (DAS), an S-CSCF, and an event notification server. The S-CSCF is adapted to receive an IMS registration request from a dispatch client, authenticate the registration request, send a registration confirmation to the dispatch client, and send a notification indicating the registration of the dispatch client to an event notification server. The event notification server is adapted to receive the notification from the S-CSCF, select a DAS, and send a notification to the selected DAS indicating an assignment to provide dispatch service to the dispatch client. In another embodiment, the registration notification to the event notification server is sent from the dispatch client, instead of the S-CSCF.

A mobile internet protocol request message is sent from a gateway node to the mobile network internet node. A mobile internet protocol access request message is sent from the mobile network internet node to the authentication node utilizing the authentication node identifier associated with a user identifier. A mobile internet protocol access accept message is received at the mobile network internet node transferred from the authentication node where the mobile internet protocol access accept message comprises a mobile network internet node key. The mobile internet protocol address is assigned at the mobile network internet node to a mobile station associated with the user identifier.

During Mobile-IP (MIP) registration for the mobile node, when a MIP home agent sends an access request to an authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) server, the AAA server will select a pool of IP addresses corresponding with a communication policy for the mobile node and will direct the home agent to assign an IP address selected from that pool. Thereafter, when the home agent receives a communication to or from the IP address, the home agent may then determine the applicable communication policy by determining the pool from which the IP address was selected, and the home agent may apply that communication policy.

An architecture and method for intercepting communications in a communications network is disclosed. The architecture includes a first access device that captures call identifying information of a call to the communications network and transmits the captured call identifying information to a network infrastructure of the communications network over a communications channel that interconnects the first access device to the network infrastructure. The architecture also includes a second access device that resides within the network infrastructure and captures call content information of the call. The method includes the steps of capturing call identifying information of the call to the communications network by the first access device, transmitting the captured call identifying information to the network infrastructure over the communications channel, and capturing call content information of the call by the second access device.

A wireless communication system including an originator media gateway to encode voice data into an IP packet depending on whether tandem free operation (TFO) or normal operation is being used. The media gateway makes such determination independent of the TFO protocol being used. In particular, the media gateway determines that TFO is being used by determining whether bits in particular fields of a predetermined number N of voice octets are filler bits or not. If they are filler bits, then TFO is being used, otherwise, normal operation is being used. If TFO is being used, the media gateway forms an IP packet with data from only another particular fields of the voice octets. If normal operation is used, the media gateway forms an IP packet with data from the entire voice octets. A target media gateway determines TFO or normal operation by examining the size of the received IP packet.
