A washing machine is disclosed. A method for washing laundry with the washing machine enhances washing performance and enables sterilization of the laundry by using steam while preventing damage of cloth due to the steam. The method comprises primarily supplying water into a tub, and supplying steam by heating the water using a heater installed in the tub to generate the steam.

Method for controlling a washing machine

There is provided a sump of a dishwasher having a plurality of nozzles for spraying washing water. The sump includes a sump case for storing the washing water, a sump cover covering the sump case, a self-cleaning filter installed on the sump cover to filter foreign objects contained in the washing water stored in the sump case, a washing pump for pumping out the washing water stored in the sump case, a pump lower receiving the washing pump and providing a soil chamber in which the foreign objects contained in the washing water are accumulated, a washing motor installed on the sump case to drive the washing pump, a drain pump installed on the sump case to drain the washing water, and a drain motor for driving the drain pump.

The tub () is formed through injection molding with a bearing housing () inserted therein, and the washing machine comprises the same. Here, the bearing housing () comprises a flange () extending to have a protruded part () and a recessed part () in a radial direction. The tub (), and the washing machine comprising the same solve the problems of the conventional washing machine, and fulfill various requirements. The tub () has excellent strength and rigidity of the rear wall thereof, exhibits a strong coupling force with respect to the inserted bearing housing (), and reduces manufacturing costs. Thus, the washing machine has all the characteristics of the tub ().

A composite washing system is disclosed which is capable of continuously circulating laundry-drying air through dryers while obtaining a more efficient drying effect, so that the composite washing system has a suitable built-in structure having minimal influence on the indoor environment. The composite washing system includes a drum dryer which dries laundry to be dried, and includes a drying drum adapted to receive the laundry, a hot air supply path adapted to guide a flow of hot air, a hot air supplier arranged in the hot air supply path to generate the hot air, and an air condenser adapted to condense the hot air, a cabinet dryer which is coupled to one side of the drum dryer, and is defined with a laundry receiving compartment, the cabinet dryer including a hot air inlet duct adapted to receive the hot air flowing through the hot air supply path, and a hot air supplying device which is arranged in the cabinet dryer to receive the hot air from the hot air inlet duct and to supply the received hot air to an inside of the laundry.

A steam generator and a laundry machine equipped with the same are disclosed, the steam generator according to the present invention includes a case () for storing water for generating steam therein; an inlet () provided within the case () for drawing water there trough; an outlet () provided within the case () for discharging steam there trough; and a water-inlet-proof-partition-wall () for preventing the water drawn through the inlet () from being discharged through the outlet (). An object of the present invention devised to solve the problem is to provide a steam generator which can prevent water from being discharged through an outlet () and supplied into a drum.

The driving apparatus includes a tub which contains washing water, and receives a drum such that the drum is rotatable, a dual rotor which includes an outer rotor including magnets supported by an inner peripheral surface of the outer rotor, the inner rotor arranged inside the outer rotor, the inner rotor including magnets supported by an outer peripheral surface of the inner rotator, a bearing housing which is formed at a rear wall of the tub in accordance with an insert molding method such that the bearing housing is integral with the tub, the bearing housing rotatably supporting a drum shaft connecting the drum and the dual rotor, a motor mounting bracket which is mounted to the rear wall of the tub, and a stator which includes a core arranged such that opposite surfaces of the core face the magnets of the outer rotor and the magnets of the inner rotor, respectively, an insulator made of an insulating material, the insulator enclosing the core, coils wound around the insulator, a molded member formed in accordance with an insert molding method to enclose the insulator and the coils such that the molded member is integral with the insulator and the coils while allowing the opposite surfaces of the core to be exposed, and a coupling member extending from the molded member, the coupling portion being mounted to the rear wall of the tub via the motor mounting bracket.
