A method and an apparatus for performing charging port detection control are provided, where the method is applied to an electronic device, a communication port of the electronic device has a functionality of obtaining power from an external power source for the electronic device, and a power path switching unit of the electronic device is arranged to control electrical connection between a system within the electronic device and a battery of the electronic device. The method may include the steps of: performing charging port detection; and control operation(s) according to the charging port detection. For example, the method may include: controlling the power path switching unit to have different configuration according to the charging port detection in order to charge the battery with different charging profiles; and detecting the system voltage level during charging for switching from the constant current mode to the constant voltage mode.

A power converter includes a wave generator, a low pass filter, a first control circuit, and a second control circuit. The wave generator receives an input voltage, and converts the input signal into a wave signal according to a first control signal and a second control signal. The low pass filter filters the wave signal to generate an output voltage. The first control circuit generates the first control signal according to the wave signal and the output voltage. The second control circuit generates the second control signal according to the wave signal and the output voltage.

A hybrid power module for supplying a power to a power amplifier is provided. The hybrid power module includes a DC-DC converter and a linear regulator. The DC-DC converter provides a first current to the power amplifier via a first inductor according to an operating frequency and an envelope tracking signal. The linear regulator provides a second current to the power amplifier via a first capacitor according to the envelope tracking signal. A switch-mode power supply (SMPS) ripple voltage caused by the DC-DC converter is reduced by the linear regulator.
