Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), including receiving, from a network entity, default bandwidth part (BWP) configuration information for a plurality of modes of operation of the network entity, the plurality of modes comprising a first mode and a second mode, and the default BWP configuration information indicating a first default BWP for the first mode and a second default BWP for the second mode; receiving, from the network entity, a mode indication indicating the network entity is operating in the first mode; and communicating with the network entity using the first default BWP based on receiving the mode indication and based on expiration of an inactivity timer.

Default bandwidth part (BWP) operation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a transmission configuration state for receiving downlink channel transmissions from a base station via a configurable surface. The transmission configuration state may indicate a quasi-co-location source associated with transmission via the configurable surface. The UE may receive a downlink channel transmission via the configurable surface based on the transmission configuration state and the quasi-co-location source. The UE may be capable of determining whether the transmission configuration state conflicts with the quasi-co-location source indicated by the transmission configuration state. The UE may transmit an indication to the base station that the configuration for the transmission configuration state conflicts with the quasi-co-location source. The indication may include a beam failure indication or a measurement report. The UE may fall back to a transmission configuration state previously activated at the UE.

Downlink transmission configuration for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may select a network energy saving mode from a set of network energy saving modes based on traffic conditions. The network entity may transmit a message indicating the network energy saving mode, a set of operating states corresponding to the network energy saving mode, and one or more time durations corresponding to the set of operating states, the set of operating states associated with one or more operating parameters corresponding to the one or more time durations. After transmitting the message, the network entity may activate the network energy saving mode for one or more components based on the one or more time durations. The UE may receive the message and perform one or more operations in accordance with the one or more operating parameters for the one or more time durations based on receiving the message.

Operating states in green network energy saving modes

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive first control signaling indicating a first network operation sequence associated with a first component carrier, the first network operation sequence including a first set of time intervals corresponding to a first set of network operation modes for the first component carrier. The UE may additionally receive second control signaling indicating a second network operation sequence associated with a second component carrier, the second network operation sequence including a second set of time intervals corresponding to a second set of network operation modes for the second component carrier. The UE may then communicate via the first component carrier in accordance with the first network operation sequence, and communicate via the second component carrier in accordance with the second network operation sequence.

Techniques for network energy saving sequences and cell interaction

Aspects are provided that allow a UE to perform DMRS bundling in PUCCH repetitions in response to a configuration from a base station indicating or enabling the UE to perform the DMRS bundling. The UE receives a configuration from a base station indicating to bundle DMRS in repetitions of an uplink control channel transmission. The UE determines a DMRS bundling window based on the configuration. The UE transmits the bundled DMRS in the DMRS bundling window. The base station processes the bundled DMRS. Improved link quality between the UE and base station and signal gains may accordingly result from applying DMRS bundling over multiple repetitions of PUCCH transmissions.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, downlink control information (DCI) that includes a dynamic primary cell (PCell) switch (DPS) field, wherein the DPS field indicates information associated with PCell switching for a group of UEs including the UE. The UE may determine whether to switch from a first PCell to a second PCell based at least in part on the DPS field in the DCI. Numerous other aspects are described.

Primary cell switching in accordance with downlink control information

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, information that indicates a periodic sequence of network energy saving (NES) states that are each associated with an antenna configuration of the network node. The UE may receive, from the network node during a current time period, one or more downlink transmissions using a maximum quantity of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) layers associated with an active NES state that is identified for a current time period based at least in part on the periodic sequence of NES states. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may transmit, to the network node during the current time period, one or more sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions using an SRS antenna sounding configuration associated with the active NES state for the current time period. Joint antenna adaptation in energy saving networks

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, in a cell wake-up occasion associated with a network node that is operating in a power saving mode, a cell wake-up signal (C-WUS) that indicates a latency tolerance priority associated with the UE. The UE may communicate with the network node based at least in part on the network node transitioning from operating in the power saving mode to operating in an active mode. Delayed cell wake-up in response to a cell wake-up signal

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) determines a transmission gap adjustment (TGA) for a first message (msgA) of a 2 step random access channel (RACH) procedure based on measurement of a reference signal transmitted by a base station as well as the radio resource configuration (RRC) configurations for msgA. In other aspects, a base station transmits a system information block (SIB) or RRC signaling that indicates at least one possible configuration of the TGA, and UEs determine the TGA depending on RRC state. Connected mode UEs having a timing alignment (TA) timer running may determine the TGA based on a previous TA. UEs in other RRC modes determine the TGA based on the possible configuration transmitted in the SIB or RRC signaling. Advantageously, 2 step RACH UEs are able to communicate with the base station without the closed loop TA information provided by a 4 step RACH.

A method, apparatus, and system for barring at least one UE from communicating with one or more RISs is disclosed. A base station may determine to bar at least one UE from communicating with one or more RISs of a plurality of RISs. The base station may transmit, to the at least one UE, a barring indication for the one or more RISs. The barring indication may identify the one or more RISs with which the at least one UE is barred from communicating. The UE may determine to refrain from communicating with the one or more RISs based on the barring indication. The UE may communicate with the base station based on the determination to refrain from communicating with the one or more RISs.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may adjust resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources) used to transmit repetitions of uplink control information (UCI) over a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The UE may adjust two parameters corresponding to different scales (e.g., levels) of adjustment, where a first parameter corresponds to a number of repetitions of a PUCCH resource and a second parameter corresponds to a number of slots within each PUCCH repetition. The UE may adjust the resources based on the first parameter, the second parameter, a size of UCI, a maximum coding rate, or some combination thereof, such that the PUCCH resources carrying UCI satisfy the maximum code rate and UCI size.

Multi-level time-domain scalable uplink channel resources

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for randomization of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) signals. A method for wireless communication includes determining a random reflection parameter for each of one or more RISs. The random reflection parameter is random over time for the one or more RISs. The method includes applying random values of the random reflection parameter at different times at each of the one or more RISs.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may receive a resource allocation for transmitting a transport block (TB) over a set of time slots. The TB may include a set of coded bits. In some aspects, the device may determine starting indexes of subsets of the coded bits, each subset of the coded bits may be for transmission during a respective subset of time slots. In some other aspects, the device may receive a configured grant for a transmission of the TB over the set of time slots. In other aspects, the device may scale a size of the TB based on a first value independent of a second value associated with a number of time slots associated with the set of time slots. The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, directed to configuration of communication states for bandwidth parts (BWPs) in which a network node may communicate with a user equipment (UE). Such communication states may be implemented to conserve power and serve cell traffic. In some aspects, an apparatus may be configured to obtain an indication associated with configuring a first set of BWPs from a network node, each of the first set of BWPs corresponding to a first communication state of a set of communication states for the network node.
