A method for LBT failure detection performed by a UE is provided. The method includes: receiving, by a MAC entity of the UE, an LBT failure indication from a lower layer for all UL transmissions; increasing an LBT failure counter when the MAC entity receives the LBT failure indication; determining an LBT failure event occurs when the LBT failure counter is greater than or equal to a threshold; and resetting the LBT failure counter after the MAC entity has not received the LBT failure indication for a time period.

Method and apparatus for LBT failure detection

A method of system information transmission for a network in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises broadcasting essential minimum system information (SI) of a cell of the wireless communication system with fixed scheduled on a downlink broadcast channel, wherein the essential minimum SI includes scheduling information for non-essential minimum SI of at least one of the cell and an auxiliary cell or a frequency location, the non-essential minimum SI is broadcasted with dynamically scheduled on a downlink shared channel, and the scheduling information includes a time and frequency resource configuration and an availability information for indicating whether the cell broadcasts the non-essential minimum SI.

The method receives a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message having a first Radio Access Network (RAN) Notification Area (RNA) configuration. The method then stores the first RNA configuration, when the UE is in one of an RRC Connected state, an RRC Inactive state, or transitioning between the RRC Inactive state and the RRC Connected state. The method applies an RNA update procedure based on the first RNA configuration when the UE is in the RRC Inactive state.

A method for acquiring system information (SI) performed by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes performing a first set of operations after determining that the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC)_CONNECTED state with an active bandwidth part (BWP) not configured with a common search space (CSS) with a field searchSpaceOtherSystemInformation; and performing a second set of operations after determining that the UE is in the RRC_CONNECTED state with the active BWP configured with the CSS with the field searchSpaceOtherSystemInformation. The first set of operations includes: transmitting a first RRC message to request a required system information block (SIB) and starting a timer; and receiving, from the cell, an RRCReconfiguration message including the required SIB. The second set of operations includes: transmitting the first RRC message to request the required SIB and starting the timer; and monitoring the CSS to acquire the required SIB.

Method and apparatus for acquiring system information

Some of the present embodiments provide a method for search space monitoring by a user equipment (UE). The method includes monitoring a first search space and a second search space. The method may receive, from a serving base station, a search space monitoring (de)activation message, which is transmitted by the serving base station of the UE, by monitoring the first search space. The method deactivates the monitoring of the second search space based on the received search space (de)activation message. In some of the present embodiments, each of the first and second search spaces includes one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates, and monitoring the first search space and the second search space comprises decoding the one or more PDCCH candidates in each of the first search space and the second search space.

Dynamic search space (de)activation in wireless communication systems

A method of performing a closed access group (CAG) selection in a non-public network (NPN) for a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, from a CAG cell, a first indication and a CAG identity via a System Information Block 1 (SIB1), reporting, by an Access Stratum (AS) layer of the UE, to a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) layer of the UE, the first indication and the CAG identity when a request from the NAS layer is received, and performing a cell selection or reselection procedure according to the CAG identity, wherein the first indication is associated with the CAG identity and indicates that the CAG identity is allowed to be selected manually even if the CAG identity is not included in an allowed CAG list of the UE.

Method of performing closed access group selection in non-public network and related device

A method performed by a UE for wireless communications is provided. The method includes receiving first other system information from a base station, other system information including system information other than minimum system information broadcast by the base station; determining whether an SUL-related factor is present in the first other system information; transmitting an RRC system information request message to the base station in response to determining that the SUL-related factor is absent in the first other system information; and determining a minimum required received level based on the SUL-related factor in a case that the UE receives the SUL-related factor in second other system information from the base station; and determining a cell selection criterion based on the minimum required received level.

Method and apparatus for performing cell (re)selection in wireless communication systems

A method for a Conditional Primary Secondary Cell Group (SCG) Cell (PSCell) Change (CPC) procedure performed by a master node is provided. The method includes receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a UE capability report indicating that the UE supports conditional reconfiguration for a PSCell change; transmitting, to the UE, a first conditional reconfiguration for changing from a source PSCell to a target PSCell in an SCG portion of a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message, the first conditional reconfiguration including a configuration of the target PSCell and an execution condition; and receiving, from the UE, a response message after the first conditional reconfiguration is applied by the UE. The first conditional reconfiguration enables the UE to evaluate the execution condition, and apply the configuration of the target PSCell and synchronize to the target PSCell after the execution condition is evaluated as satisfied.

Method and apparatus for conditional PSCell change

A method performed by a serving cell of a base station (BS) is provided. The method receives a measurement report from a user equipment (UE). The measurement report includes measurements associated with another cell. The method then transmits, to the UE, beam information based on the received measurements via a two-stage indication. The beam information includes at least a synchronization signal (SS) block bitmap having one or more SS block bits corresponding to one or more SS block indices for the another cell.

Wireless communication method and user equipment for non-public network control mechanisms

Some of the present implementations provide a method for a user equipment (UE) for performing a random access (RA) procedure. The method receives, at the UE, an RA configuration and a reference signal received power (RSRP) threshold. The method then determines whether a detected RSRP exceeds the RSRP threshold once the RA procedure is initiated. If the detected RSRP exceeds the RSRP threshold, the method performs a two-step RA procedure.

Two-step random access procedure in next generation wireless networks

A user equipment (UE) and a method for wireless communication are provided. The method includes receiving a first radio resource control (RRC) configuration, the first RRC configuration configuring a radio link monitoring configuration that includes a beam failure detection (BFD) timer and a beam failure indication (BFI) count threshold; starting or restarting the BFD timer by a medium access control (MAC) entity of the UE each time a BFI is received from a lower layer; counting a number of the received BFIs using a BFI counter; initiating a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure upon determining that the BFI counter indicates a value greater than or equal to the BFI count threshold; and setting the BFI counter to zero when receiving a second RRC configuration that reconfigures the radio link monitoring configuration.

The method is performed by a UE and includes: reading system information of a plurality of cells on a first carrier frequency to obtain identification information of a plurality of PLMNs; reporting, by an AS entity of the UE, the identification information of the plurality of PLMNs to a NAS entity of the UE; selecting, by the NAS of the UE, one of the plurality of PLMNs as a selected PLMN; searching for the plurality of cells on the first carrier frequency during a cell selection procedure; and selecting a suitable cell belonging to the selected PLMN from the plurality of cells on the first carrier frequency based on the cell selection procedure.
