The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented systems and methods for facilitating simultaneous poll responses. A method may include assigning respective subsets of subcarrier frequencies to a plurality of user devices for communication over a wireless channel. The method may also include transmitting, simultaneously, a channel status request poll to the user devices. Additionally, the method may include determining, based at least in part on a first channel status response received via a first subset of subcarrier frequencies over the wireless channel, that the first channel status response is received from the first user device. Similarly, the method may also include determining a second channel status response is received from a second user device. Furthermore, the method may include determining, based at least in part on the first channel status response and the second channel status response, to schedule simultaneous data communication for the first device and the second device.

Disclosed herein are methods and apparatuses configured to direct wireless communication. In some embodiments, a networking apparatus is configured to generate a plurality of sequences of symbols for transmission to plurality of client devices; transmit the plurality of sequences to the plurality of client device via one or more beams focused toward the client devices; and transmit the first sequence of symbols and the second sequence of symbols at least partly simultaneously.

Aspects for machine learning-based link adaptation are described. For example, an apparatus can determine k-nearest neighbors (K-NNs) based on training data associated with the sub-band and on the signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) of the sub-band. In aspects, the apparatus can identify a channel quality indicator (CQI) associated with the lowest error rate for the k-NNs and provide the identified CQI to a base station. In aspects, a neural network (NN) can provide labels for CQIs that indicate probability of choosing a CQI, and the CQI having highest probability will be provided to a base station. In aspects, a covariance matrix based on samples of a communication channel can be provided to a NN to determine a rank indicator (RI) corresponding to the channel, and channel state information associated with the (RI) can be sent to the base station. A device may determine a communications channel having a bandwidth of a frequency band. The device may determine a first group of subchannels of the bandwidth and a second group of subchannels of the bandwidth. The device may determine a high efficiency signal field to be transmitted on the communications channel to a first device. The device may encode the high efficiency signal field using the first group of subchannels and the second group of subchannels. In one embodiment, the present disclosure provides an evolved Node B (eNB) that includes a device-to-device (D2D) module configured to allocate at least one D2D discovery region including at least one periodic discovery zone, the at least one periodic discovery zone including a first plurality of resource blocks in frequency and a second plurality of subframes in time, the D2D module further configured to configure a User Equipment (UE) to utilize the at least one D2D discovery region for transmitting a discovery packet.

An interference margin may be estimated for the channel based on the first and second channel interferences. The interference margin may be announced to the other transmitter/receiver pairs in frame. The interference margin may then be complied with while communicating over the channel in order to control the interference.

Example systems, methods, and devices for mitigating interference in wireless networks are discussed. One example method includes the operations of passing channel frequency offsets of a plurality of LTF symbols on a plurality of subcarriers through a high pass frequency band, encoding the plurality of LTF symbols with a plurality of LTF sequences across frequency, and encoding the LTF symbols in time and/or frequency. Another example includes the operations of receiving a plurality of LTF symbols on a plurality of subcarriers for channel estimation of one or more streams, removing the encoding across time, removing the encoding across frequency, and removing the LTF sequence(s), and passing the modified LTF symbols through a smoothing filter, for example, a low pass filter for removing the interference due to CFOs. Methods, apparatus, and systems described herein can be applied to 802.11ax or any other wireless standard.

Embodiments of user equipment and methods for improved uplink transmission power management and scheduling, are generally described herein. For example, in an aspect, a method of uplink power management is presented, the method includes determining whether a total desired transmission power exceeds a total configured maximum output power for a subframe. When the total desired transmission power exceeds the total configured maximum output power, the method includes allocating a minimum proactive power limitation to each serving cell, assigning a remaining power to one or more channels based on priority, and computing a total power assignment based on the allocating and the assigning.

Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for signaling high efficiency short training field are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) station is disclosed. The HEW station may comprise circuitry configured to: receive a trigger frame comprising an allocation of a resource block for the HEW station, and transmit a high efficiency short training field (HE-STF) with a same bandwidth as a subsequent data portion, wherein the transmit is to be in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and wherein the transmit is within the resource block. A subcarrier allocation for the HE-STF may match a subcarrier allocation for the subsequent data portion. The HE-STF and the subsequent data portion may be transmitted with a same power. A total power of active subcarriers of the HE-STF may be equal to or proportional to a second total of data subcarriers and pilot subcarriers of the subsequent data portion.
