The present disclosure describes techniques for playing videos. The techniques comprise presenting a video playing page; popping up a window on the video playing page; displaying prompt screens in the window, wherein each prompt screen in the window corresponds to a content item; displaying additional prompt screens in the window in a horizontally scrolled manner; and in response to receiving a trigger operation performed on a prompt screen in the window, displaying a content item corresponding to the prompt screen in the video playing page.

A method and device for controlling a pop-up window, a computer-readable medium, and an electronic device are provided. According to the method, a target sub-video in a first target hotspot is played when entering a hot video playing page, a pop-up window is controlled to pop up on reception of a pop-up window display instruction. The pop-up window display instruction is generated in response to a click instruction received in a more hotspot prompt area on the hot video playing page. The pop-up window includes video prompt screens corresponding to multiple candidate hotspots, the video prompt screens are displayed in a horizontally scrolled manner in the pop-up window, and the first target hotspot is included in the candidate hotspots, a video prompt screen corresponding to the first target hotspot is partially displayed at a boundary of the pop-up window.

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and apparatus for displaying a video playback page, an electronic device, and a medium. A specific implementation of the method includes: displaying the video playback page, where the video playback page includes a video playback view and a progress adjustment control for adjusting video playback progress; and updating a progress displayed in the progress adjustment control based on a playback progress of a currently played video in the video playback view at intervals of a target duration, where the target duration is determined based on a size of a screen of a video playback device and a total duration of the currently played video. This implementation realizes differentiation of callback duration for videos of different durations, thereby avoiding a video freeze caused by setting a fixed callback duration.

A method and an apparatus for adjusting a view for a target device, an electronic device, and a computer-readable medium are provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure. A specific implementation of the method includes: determining whether a currently playing video is a video of a first type in response to detecting a change of a posture of the target device; and adjusting a display direction of the video-stream-play view to match the posture of the target device and adjusting a display position and/or transparency of the at least one video-stream-play interactive control in response to determining that the currently playing video is the video of the first type. This implementation achieves matching of the view with the posture of the target device and enhances adaptability of the video-stream-play interactive control with the adjusted video-stream-play view.
