The apparatus receives a first PDU and a first CRC that is based on the first PDU. The first PDU is encrypted based on a first nonce. The apparatus decrypts the first PDU to obtain a first payload and a first cipher stream. The apparatus soft combines the decrypted first payload with a decrypted set of payloads. The set of payloads have been encrypted based on at least one nonce different than the first nonce. The apparatus generates a second CRC based on the soft combined decrypted payloads and based on the first cipher stream. The apparatus determines whether the generated second CRC for the soft combined decrypted payloads passes a CRC check against the first CRC.

A first device may establish, with a second device, a logical link associated with short-range communications. The first device may receive a first packet carried on the logical link. When the first PDU data fails the decoding check, the first device may determine, based on the logical link, a first operational mode from a plurality of operational modes for error correction, the first device may receive a set of retransmission packets on the logical link, each of the set of retransmission packets including respective PDU data that is a retransmission of the first PDU data, and the first device may apply, based on the first PDU data included in the first packet and the respective PDU data included in each of the set of retransmission packets, the first operational mode for error correction.

A first device may establish, with a second device, a first logical link associated with short-range communications. The first device may detect the transmission of a first packet from a master device to the second device carried on a second logical link. The first device may decode at least part of the first packet comprising data intended for the first device. The first device may transmit, to the second device, a request for a re-transmission of the first packet when the first device fails to decode at least part of the first packet. The first device may receive, from the second device, at least one re-transmission of the first packet. The first device may apply an error correction operation on the at least one re-transmission of the first packet received from the second device and the first packet received from the master device.

According to various aspects, techniques to enable implicit and/or explicit transmit (Tx) beamforming in a wireless personal area network are provided. In particular, the implicit transmit beamforming may be enabled during certain events, frames, and/or other conditions when a channel between a beamformer and a beamformee is reciprocal (i.e., packets are received and transmitted on the same frequency). In such cases, the beamformer may estimate channel state information (CSI) based on a packet received from the beamformee and use the estimated CSI to steer a beam in a direction towards the beamformee. In use cases that implement explicit transmit beamforming, the beamformee may estimate the CSI based on a packet received from the beamformer and provide the estimated CSI to the beamformer, which may then use the estimated CSI received from the beamformee to steer a beam in a direction towards the beamformee.

Disclosed are techniques for improving performance of short-range wireless network channel scans using receiver diversity. In an aspect, an electronic device having two or more short-range wireless network receiver antennas determines whether to utilize different receiver antennas of the two or more short-range wireless network receiver antennas to perform concurrently scheduled channel scans for different short-range wireless network radio access technologies (RATs) supported by the electronic device, or to perform an accelerated channel scan for a single short-range wireless network RAT of the different short-range wireless network RATs supported by the electronic device, and performs the concurrently scheduled channel scans or the accelerated channel scan based on the determination.

Performance of short-range wireless network channel scans using receiver diversity

Methods and apparatuses for establishing a wireless connection are disclosed. In an embodiment, a first communication device transmits a first advertising signal for a first period of time, the first advertising signal configured to advertise that the first communication device is available to establish a first wireless connection, scans for a second advertising signal for a second period of time, the second advertising signal transmitted by a second communication device and configured to advertise that the second communication device is available to establish a second wireless connection, and listens for a third signal for a third period of time, the third signal transmitted by a third communication device in response to the first advertising signal, the third period of time occurring during the second period of time.

Emissive quantum photonic imagers comprised of a spatial array of digitally addressable multicolor pixels. Each pixel is a vertical stack of multiple semiconductor laser diodes, each of which can generate laser light of a different color. Within each multicolor pixel, the light generated from the stack of diodes is emitted perpendicular to the plane of the imager device via a plurality of vertical waveguides that are coupled to the optical confinement regions of each of the multiple laser diodes comprising the imager device. Each of the laser diodes comprising a single pixel is individually addressable, enabling each pixel to simultaneously emit any combination of the colors associated with the laser diodes at any required on/off duty cycle for each color. Each individual multicolor pixel can simultaneously emit the required colors and brightness values by controlling the on/off duty cycles of their respective laser diodes.
