A device described herein may receive an indication that the device is not authorized to access a first type of core network (e.g., a Fifth Generation ('5G') Core (“5GC”)), and may detect that a first core network, of the first type of core network, is available for communication. The device may detect that a second core network, of a second type of core network (e.g., an Evolved Packet Core (“EPC”)), is available for communication. Based on the indication that the device is not authorized to access the first type of core network, the device may request establishment of a communication session with the second core network (e.g., in lieu of requesting access the first core network).

A first device receives information indicating changed network conditions for a network supporting a call with a second device at a first audio bit rate, and provides, to the second device, a packet instructing use of a second audio bit rate. The first device starts a timer associated with receiving an indication that the second device is using the second audio bit rate, and receives, from the second device, a response packet at the first audio bit rate. The first device determines that the timer has expired, and provides, to the second device, additional packets instructing use of the second audio bit rate. The first device continues the call with the second device at the second audio bit rate.

Adapting an audio bit rate based on changing network conditions

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which beam configuration management service is provided. A network device of a wireless access network provides the service that includes identifying redundant configurations across carriers associated with a cell group, and links the common beam configurations to these carriers. The service also includes identifying any difference in beam configurations relative to the common beam configurations for a carrier. The service may transmit this beam configuration information in a control plane message to an end device. The end device may use the beam configuration information.

A system described herein may provide a technique for ensuring that a User Equipment ('UE') is provided an opportunity to scan for available cells in a wireless network in a manner that allows the UE to detect cells according to a particular radio frequency (“RF”) band. When receiving a measurement report from the UE that does not include cells implementing the particular RF band, a timer may be initiated during which subsequent measurement reports may be received from the UE. If a subsequent measurement from the UE includes a cell corresponding to the particular RF band, the UE may be instructed to connect to such a cell. Otherwise, the UE may be instructed to connect to another cell that does not implement the particular RF band.

Systems and methods for network-implemented cell selection in a wireless network based on UE measurement reports

A user device provides, to a network, information associated with the user device, and receives, from the network, a multi-bit network indication that indicates access technologies, services, and network capabilities provided by the network. The user device determines whether the user device is in a home network or a visited network based on the multi-bit network indication. The user device passes bits of the multi-bit network indication to an upper layer when the user device is in the home network or passes a portion of the bits of the multi-bit network indication to the upper layer when the user device is in the visited network. The user device receives a selection of one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities, and receives, from the network, the one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities for the user device based on the selection.

A user equipment may generate one or more temperature thresholds based on thermal mitigation guidelines. The one or more temperature thresholds may define a first temperature zone and a second temperature zone. The user equipment may detect a temperature of the user equipment. The user equipment may identify whether the temperature occurs in the first temperature zone or the second temperature zone. The user equipment may send information to a network device to cause one or more network actions to be performed. The one or more network actions may be configured to maintain or reduce the temperature within the first temperature zone or to reduce the temperature to cause the temperature to switch from the second temperature zone to the first temperature zone.

A network device receives a fallback connection, for a 5G New Radio (NR) standalone-capable end device, from a second network to the first network to support a voice call on the end device, wherein the fallback connection supports a voice-over-LTE call. The network device detects an end of the VoLTE call and initiates, in response to the detecting, a handover of the end device back to the second network, wherein the initiating occurs while the end device is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode.

The core network selection service may manage the end devices when in idle mode and in a connected mode.
