An electronic driver for transforming an electronic ballast input voltage into an operating voltage for an LED lighting module. The driver includes a flicker eliminating circuit, which is adapted to operate in a saturation mode when the input voltage is below a threshold voltage. It operates in a switch mode when the input voltage is above a threshold voltage. A voltage drop in the flicker eliminating circuit in the saturation mode is higher than in the switch mode.

An electronic driver for transforming an input voltage provided by an electrical ballast into an operating voltage for an LED lighting module is provided, comprising an input for connecting the electrical ballast to the electronic driver, an output for connecting the LED lighting module to the electronic driver, and an bypass circuit, wherein the bypass circuit is adapted for being connected in parallel to the output if a low input voltage is provided at the input and for being disconnected from the output if a high input voltage is provided at the input.

The invention provides a driver circuit, an LED lighting tube and a method for providing a controlled DC output power. An open loop control is used for controlling the DC output power in the case that a voltage of an AC input power is in a first voltage range. A closed loop control is used for controlling the DC output power in the case that the voltage of the AC input power is in a second voltage range.
