A communication subsystem, method and computer program product preconfigure a size of a transport control protocol (TCP) buffer when connected to a master node using a first radio access technology (RAT) that supports during dual connectivity with a secondary node using a second RAT. A timer is started when the secondary node is available but not being used at least in part for data transfer. Until the timer expires, the TCP buffer is maintained in a size to efficiently provide both (i) support for data transfer using the first RAT via the master node only; and (ii) expedited setup of data transfer using at least the secondary node using the second RAT. When the timer expires without connecting to the secondary node, the controller reduces the size of the TCP buffer to release storage resources that are not needed for data transfer via only the master node.

Communication device with transport control protocol buffers sized for dual connectivity

In embodiments of network connectivity switching utilizing an authentication device for switching network connectivity from a first device to a second device, the authentication device receives a device switch indication from the second device, which can communicate via a cellular network. The authentication device communicates a device switch order to the first device, which is authenticated and communicatively linked for wireless communication via the cellular network. The authentication device communicates a network attach indication to the second device that then communicates an attach request to the cellular network, and the authentication device authenticates the second device to the cellular network. Alternatively, the authentication device receives a device switch indication from the second device and communicates a device switch order to the first device. The first device then communicates connection reestablishment information to the second device that initiates a connection reestablishment with the cellular network based on the connection reestablishment information.

Network connectivity switching utilizing an authentication device

In embodiments of network connectivity switching utilizing an authentication device for switching network connectivity from a first device to a second device, the authentication device maintains an address of the first device with a memory of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag, and the first device is authenticated for wireless communication via the cellular network. The authentication device receives an interrogation of the RFID tag from the second device, which can communicate via the cellular network, and responsive to an RFID tag response indicating the address of the first device, the second device communicates a device switch order to the first device, communicates an attach request to the cellular network, and writes an address of the second device to the memory of the RFID tag. The authentication device can then authenticate the second device to switch the network connectivity to the second device for wireless communication via the cellular network.

The subject invention comprises a hydrocarbon-conversion process using a zeolitic catalyst comprising very low concentrations of non-zeolitic material and featuring a gradient in crystallinity decreasing from the outer portion to the center and an intrusion pore volume of at least 0.6 cc/gram. The catalyst is particularly effective in a xylene-isomerization process comprising ethylbenzene conversion.

Catalyst and process for hydrocarbon conversion

Catalysts are disclosed comprising fibrous substrates having silica-containing fibers with diameters generally from about 1 to about 50 microns, which act effectively as 'micro cylinders.' Such catalysts can dramatically improve physical surface area, for example per unit length of a reactor or reaction zone. At least a portion of the silica, originally present in the silica-containing fibers of a fibrous material used to form the fibrous substrate, is converted to a zeolite (e.g., having a SiO/AlOratio of at least about 150) that remains deposited on these fibers. The fibrous substrates possess important properties, for example in terms of acidity, which are useful in hydroprocessing (e.g., hydrotreating or hydrocracking) applications.
