A dielectrophoretic separator has a separator vessel having a fluid ingress at a first side and a fluid egress at a second side, an electrode electrically connected to a power source and contained within the vessel, along the central axis, a plurality of high permittivity dielectric rods within the vessel positioned around and parallel to the electrode, wherein the electrode has a first polarity and the vessel has a second polarity such that an electromagnetic field is generated between the electrode and the vessel. A method of performing a separation cycle has the steps of: i) powering up an electrode within a vessel such that the electrode and vessel have an opposite polarity, wherein a plurality of high permittivity dielectric rods are contained within the vessel, ii) the fluid passing through channels between the rods, iii) the solid particles within the fluid being retained against the rods by electrical field(s).

Apparatus for removing particulate matter from liquids

A method and apparatus to create a panoramic image via a rotating camera of a portable electronic device are provided. The method includes rotating the camera of the portable electronic device with respect to the portable electronic device. The method further includes recording a plurality of images at a plurality of corresponding angles between the camera and a direction of the portable electronic device. The method further includes stitching the plurality of images together based on the plurality of angles and creating a panoramic image from the plurality of images.

The embodiment devices combine, into one compact package, the benefits of a small carry size with those of a large display. An embodiment mobile phone with a flexible display includes a first part having a first surface and a first edge, and a second part having a second surface and a second edge. A rotatable hinge couples the first edge of the first part is coupled to the second edge of the second part. The flexible display of the mobile phone is a continuous flexible display which has a back surface disposed on the first surface of the first part and on the second surface of the second part. The viewing surface of the flexible display is opposite to the back surface.

Apparatuses and methods for a flexible display on a mobile device

Pulse shape analysis determines if two radiations are in coincidence. A transducer is provided that, when it absorbs the first radiation produces an output pulse that is characterized by a shorter time constant and whose area is nominally proportional to the energy of the absorbed first radiation and, when it absorbs the second radiation produces an output pulse that is characterized by a longer time constant and whose area is nominally proportional to the energy of the absorbed second radiation. When radiation is absorbed, the output pulse is detected and two integrals are formed, the first over a time period representative of the first time constant and the second over a time period representative of the second time constant. The values of the two integrals are examined to determine whether the first radiation, the second radiation, or both were absorbed in the transducer, the latter condition defining a coincident event.
