A display device includes: scan lines extending in a first direction; first data lines, second data lines, and third data lines extending in a second direction; a first driving unit connected to the scan lines and the first data lines; a first light emitting unit connected to the first driving unit; a second driving unit connected to the scan lines and the second data lines; a second light emitting unit connected to the second driving unit; a third driving unit connected to the scan lines and the second data lines; and a third light emitting unit connected to the third driving unit. The first light emitting unit overlaps the second driving unit or the third driving unit, the second light emitting unit overlaps the first driving unit or the third driving unit, and the third light emitting unit overlaps the first driving unit or the second driving unit.

The display device includes a display panel that includes a first display area in which a plurality of first pixels are disposed and a second display area in which a plurality of second pixels are disposed; and at least one sensor overlapping the second display area and not overlapping the first display area of the display panel, wherein the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of second pixels are connected to a scan line providing a scan signal and a data line providing a data signal, and wherein the plurality of first pixels are not connected to a sensing control line providing a sensing control signal that senses an anode voltage of a light emitting element.

The display panel displays a first image on the first display area and the second display area in a first mode, and displays a second image on the first display area in a second mode. The light emitting driver activates emission control signals applied to the first display area and the second display area in the first mode. The light emitting driver activates emission control signals applied to the second display area during a first partial frame in the second mode, and maintains the emission control signals applied to the second display area in a deactivation state during a plurality of second partial frames in the second mode.

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixel rows, and a panel driver which drives the display panel. The panel driver determines whether input image data represents a still image. When the input image data represents the still image, the panel driver determines a flicker value of the still image, applies a compensation value corresponding to a carry shift interval to the flicker value, determines a driving frequency for the display panel based on the flicker value to which the compensation value is applied, and performs an alternate driving operation for the display panel at the driving frequency.

A pixel includes: a storage capacitor connected between a first power supply voltage and a gate node; a first transistor including a gate electrode connected to the gate node; a second transistor to transfer a data signal to a source of the first transistor in response to a scan signal; a third transistor to diode-connect the first transistor in response to the scan signal, and including first and second sub-transistors serially connected between the gate node and a drain of the first transistor; a fourth transistor to transfer an initialization voltage to the gate node in response to an initialization signal, and including third and fourth sub-transistors serially connected between the gate node and the initialization voltage; and an organic light emitting diode including a cathode connected to a second power supply voltage. A display device includes a display panel including a first partial panel region and a second partial panel region, and a panel driver which drives the display panel. The panel driver determines a first driving frequency for the first partial panel region and a second driving frequency for the second partial panel region. In a case where the first driving frequency and the second driving frequency are different from each other, the panel driver sets a boundary portion including a boundary between the first partial panel region and the second partial panel region, and determines a third driving frequency for the boundary portion to be between the first driving frequency and the second driving frequency.

A display apparatus includes a display panel including a pixel to display an image based on input image data, a driving controller which determines a driving frequency of a first display area of the display panel to be a first driving frequency and determines a driving frequency of a second display area of the display panel to be a second driving frequency less than the first driving frequency when the first display area displays a moving image and the second display area of the display panel displays a still image, and an emission driver which outputs a moving image emission signal corresponding to the first driving frequency and a still image emission signal corresponding to the second driving frequency to the display panel. A width of a non-emission period of the still image emission signal is greater than a width of a non-emission period of the moving image emission signal.

Provided is a scan driver of a display device, and the scan driver includes a driving circuit and a masking circuit. The driving circuit includes a control circuit, a first output circuit, and a second output circuit. The control circuit outputs a first control signal and a second control signal. The first output circuit is connected to a first output terminal which outputs a first scan signal and a first voltage terminal and operates in response to a first control signal. The second output circuit is connected to a first output terminal and a second voltage terminal and operates in response to a second control signal. The masking circuit outputs a second scan signal to a second output terminal in response to the first control signal and the second control signal and is connected to an input terminal to which a masking signal is supplied.

A driving controller of a display device, the controller including a segment divider configured to divide the image signal into a plurality of segments and define a predetermined number of adjacent segments among the plurality of segments as a segment block, an image signal adder configured to add up a gray scale value of the image signal of each of the predetermined number of adjacent segments and output the added-up gray scale values, an average gray scale calculator configured to receive the added-up gray scale values and output an average gray scale value, a correction circuit configured to output corrected added-up gray scale values obtained by adding a weight value to each of the added-up gray scale values on the basis of the average gray scale value, and a driving frequency determiner configured to determine the driving frequency of the display device on the basis of the corrected added-up gray scale values.

The display device includes a display panel that includes a first display region and a second display region, a data driving circuit configured to drive a plurality of data lines, a scan driving circuit configured to drive a plurality of scan lines, and a driving controller configured to control the data driving circuit and the scan driving circuit so as to operate the first display region and the second display region at different frequencies when an operation mode is a multi-frequency mode, wherein the driving controller changes the operation mode to a normal mode when a difference between an image signal of a current frame of the first display region and an image signal of a previous frame of the first display region is equal to or greater than a reference value during the multi-frequency mode.

A display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; and a driving controller configured to: generate a data signal corresponding to an input image data; generate a data voltage based on the data signal; and output the data voltage to the pixels, wherein the driving controller is configured to output the data signal in at least one driving frequency higher than a predetermined low frequency during an image transition period in a low frequency driving mode during which the data signal outputs in the low frequency.
