Described is a modular access point for wireless communications. The access point includes a housing which has at least one module receiving slot and a first wireless communication radio. The radio communicates with a first wireless device via a first frequency band. The access point also includes a removable module configured for insertion into the module receiving slot. The module includes a second communication radio utilizing a second frequency band so that, when the removable module is inserted into the slot, the access point is capable of communicating with a second wireless device via at least one of the first and second frequency bands. The access point includes a plurality of antenna connectors which are connected to the first and second radios. The access point may utilize external antennas or internal antenna modules which interchangeably attachable to the antenna connectors.

Modular access point

Described is a modular access point for wireless communications. The access point includes a housing which has at least one module receiving slot and a first wireless communication radio. The radio communicates with a first wireless device via a first frequency band. The access point also includes a removable module configured for insertion into the module receiving slot. The module includes a second communication radio utilizing a second frequency band so that, when the removable module is inserted into the slot, the access point is capable of communicating with a second wireless device via at least one of the first and second frequency bands. The access point includes a plurality of antenna connectors which are connected to the first and second radios. The access pint may utilize external antennas or internal antenna modules which interchangeably attachable to the antenna connectors.

Described is a system with a light pipe body having a first end and a second end, wherein a light source provides light beams at a first end of the light pipe body, the light beams traveling through the light pipe body. The system further includes a light-emitting surface coupled to the second end of the light pipe body, wherein the light beams travel from the light pipe body to the light-emitting surface. The system also has dispersion structures disposed on a surface of the light-emitting surface, wherein the dispersion structures are protrusions from the surface of the light-emitting surface, the light beams traveling from the light-emitting surface to the dispersion structures and being emitted from the dispersion structures at a plurality of angles.

System and method for extending viewing angle of light emitted from light pipe

Described is a light pipe having a first end receiving light beams from a light source, a light pipe body through which the light beams travel and a second end including a dispersion structure with a light emitting surface, the dispersion structure being a substantially conical shaped depression in the second end, the light beams being emitted from the light emitting surface of the dispersion structure at a plurality of angles.

Described is a circuit assembly including a circuit board including a connector, a card connectable to the connector and an apparatus securing the card to the connector, wherein the apparatus includes a front portion in substantially close contact with the card and a back portion in substantially close contact with the card, the apparatus being coupled to the circuit board.
