In some implementations, a storage node receives data processing instructions from a compute node of a network architecture. The storage node detects a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) within the data processing instructions. The DAG includes a plurality of data processing operations arranged within the DAG according to an execution. The data processing operations further include user-defined function (UDF) information associated with a UDF. The storage node may retrieve a first data object from an object store of the distributed storage node based on object keys information within the plurality of data processing operations. The storage node may execute the plurality of data processing operations using the retrieved first data object to generate a DAG execution result, the executing of the plurality of data processing operations based on the execution order. The storage node may communicate the DAG execution result to the compute node in response to the data processing instructions.

Near data processing (NDP) in network nodes

Embodiments generally relate transforming data for a target schema. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving input data, where the input data includes a plurality of segments, and where the segments include a plurality of source fields containing target data. The method further includes characterizing the input data based at least in part on a plurality of predetermined metrics, where the predetermined metrics determine a structure of the input data. The method further includes mapping the target data in the source fields of the segments to a plurality of target fields of a target schema based at least in part on the characterizing. The method further includes populating the target fields of the target schema with the target data from the source fields based at least in part on the mapping.

Transforming data for a target schema

A model-driven and QoS-aware infrastructure facilitates the scalable composition of Web services in highly dynamic environments. An exception management framework supports two modes of exception management for business processes, providing a novel policy-driven approach to exception management implemented in the system infrastructure. Exception management is implemented in the system infrastructure, with exception handling policies supplied by individual business processes. Using the exception management framework, developers define exception policies in a declarative manner. Before a business process is executed, the service composition middleware integrates the exception policies with normal business logic to generate a complete process schema. This policy driven-approach can significantly reduce the development time of business processes through its separation of the development of the business logic and the exception handling policies.

Apparatus and method for policy-driven business process exception handling

A method is provided for data matching between a set of source data structures and a set of target data structures. The method includes obtaining, using a processor device configured to perform machine learning, source to target matching results with matching scores, based on the sets of source and target data structures. The method further includes calculating, by the processor device, context information for data structure pairs based on a structure similarity and an ontology similarity between constituent data structures thereof. Each of data structure pairs include as the constituent data structures a respective source data structure and a respective target data structure from the sets of source and target data structures. The method also includes updating, by the processor device, the matching scores based on the context information. The method additionally includes controlling, by the processor device, a hardware device responsive to at least one updated matching score.

A method, system, and/or computer program product for identifying and replacing a deficient component in a product. One or more processors deconstruct a text product review into multiple n-grams, where each of the multiple n-grams is a review of a particular component from components of a product. The processor(s) generate a component numeric rating value (CNRV) for each of the multiple n-grams, where the CNRV is based on an analysis of each of the multiple n-grams. The processor(s) identify a deficient component of the product. The processor(s) identify a cause of the deficiency in the deficient component and identify a replacement component that does not cause the deficiency in the deficient component. The processor(s) direct a manufacturing device that manufactures the product to replace the deficient component with the replacement component.

A mechanism is provided for implementing operation optimization. Responsive to a request to load data via a input/output (I/O) load operation, prior to loading the data, transformed data in a local memory is searched for a match to the requested data. Responsive to identifying transformed that matches the requested data, the transformed data in the local memory is used to fulfill the request. Responsive to failing to identify transformed data in the local memory that matches the requested data, untransformed data in the local memory is searched for a match to the requested data. Responsive to identifying untransformed data that matches the requested data, the untransformed data in the local memory is used to fulfill the request. Responsive to failing to identify untransformed data in the local memory that matches the requested data, the requested data may be loaded from the storage system via the I/O load operation.

Optimizing data retrieval operation in big-data processing systems

A mechanism for declarative service domain federation uses a declarative approach to both the visibility aspect and the management aspect of service domain federation. Instead of manually exporting services, that is, selecting individual services from source domains to be visible in the target domain, using the present system, a federation architect uses a federation console to specify federation intent. The federation intent may include federation rule, query-based service group, and quality-of-service (QoS) policy. Based on the declared federation intent, a planning engine resolves the individual services based on the group query, generates the service visibility configuration, and creates the necessary service proxies and/or mediation objects to satisfy the goal. At runtime, a service monitor collects the performance metrics of federated services and dynamically adjusts the mediation/proxy configurations to maintain the QoS objectives specified by the federation architect.

One or more processors deconstruct, by utilizing natural language processing (NLP), a text product review into multiple n-grams, where each of the multiple n-grams is a sequence of words from the text product review, and where each of the multiple n-grams is a review of a particular component from the multiple components of the product. The processor(s) generate a component numeric rating value (CNRV) for each of the multiple n-grams using machine learning techniques such as collaborative filtering, and store CNRVs for the multiple components of the product together with identifiers of particular components of the product. The processor(s) receive a request for a particular CNRV for the particular component of the product, retrieve the particular CNRV, and then transmit the particular CNRV to a requesting device of the request in order to adjust an operational feature of the requesting device.

Examples of techniques for deploying an application on a cloud environment satisfying integrity and geo-fencing constraints are disclosed herein. A computer implemented method may include: receiving a guest application for deployment on a cloud environment; receiving the integrity constraints on the integrity of each of the plurality of host where the application is to be deployed; receiving geo-fencing constraints identifying a geographic location where the guest application is to be deployed; determining for which of the plurality of hosts the integrity constraints and the geo-fencing constraints are satisfied; and deploying the guest application on at least one of the plurality of hosts that satisfy the integrity constraints and the geo-fencing constraints.

The license terms, the description of function, and the non-functional properties of the program module are identified, based on an analysis of the information. An object of interest of each license term of the license terms is determined, such that the object of interest is directed to a condition influencing license term compliance. Rules corresponding to compliance of the one or more license terms of the program module are determined, and the analyzed information of the program module is stored in a meta-model format organized into categories including the description of function, the one or more license terms, and the non-functional properties of the program module, utilizing standardized syntax and semantics.

Systems and methods are provided to support service management in cloud computing networks. For example, a method for managing a computing platform includes provisioning a plurality of virtual machines across a plurality of computing nodes of a computing platform, wherein the provisioned virtual machines are configured to execute service workloads to provide one or more services to customers, and utilizing one or more of the provisioned virtual machines which execute the service workloads to further perform service management operations for managing the computing platform. Examples of GPU resource sharing among applications are disclosed. In one example, a method includes receiving a first request from a first application of the plurality of applications for first requested GPU resources, and receiving a second request from a second application of the plurality of applications for second GPU resources. The method also includes, responsive to determining that the first requested GPU resources are available, allocating a first slice of the GPU resources with a first requested amount of resources to the first application and, responsive to determining that the second requested GPU resources are available, allocating a second slice of the GPU resources with a second requested amount of resources to the second application. Further, the method includes enabling the first application and the second application to execute concurrently within the first slice of the GPU and the second slice of the GPU respectively.

Examples of GPU resource sharing among distributed applications in a distributed computing environment are disclosed. In one example, a method includes receiving a first request from a first distributed application of the plurality of distributed applications for first requested GPU resources. The method may further include receiving a second request from a second distributed application of the plurality of distributed applications for second requested GPU resources. The method may also include receiving response from each of the plurality of computing nodes indicating an availability of GPU resources for each of the plurality of computing nodes.
