The present disclosure provides a connector assembly comprising a cage and a heat sink. The cage has a receiving space and a wall constituting the receiving space, the wall is formed with a window which is communicated with the receiving space and two latching plates which are provided to two sides of the window and extend away from the receiving space, each latching plate is integrally formed with a latching protrusion, the latching protrusion has a guiding portion and a latching portion, a protruding amount of the guiding portion from the latching plate gradually increases as a distance of the guiding portion from the receiving space decreases, the latching portion is positioned to a tip end surface of the guiding portion. The heat sink has a base plate, in a process that the heat sink is assembled to the cage, the base plate pushes against the guiding portions of the latching protrusions of the two latching plates to make the two latching plates elastically move, after the base plate passes over the guiding portions of the latching protrusions of the two latching plates, the latching portions of the latching protrusions of the two latching plates latch with the base plate.

Connector assembly

The present disclosure provides a plug connector adapted to insert into a receptacle connector, the receptacle connector includes a cage having an opening. The plug connector includes a metal shell and a conductive elastic member. The metal shell is provided with a recessed groove. The conductive elastic member includes a conductive elastic body, the conductive elastic body has a holding portion held in the recessed groove and a first electromagnetic shielding portion extending out of the recessed groove from the holding portion, when the plug connector is inserted forwardly into the receptacle connector, the first electromagnetic shielding portion enters into the opening of the cage of the receptacle connector and mechanically and electrically contacts the cage and the metal shell. However, some embodiments may not include a holding portion or recessed groove.

A cage assembly comprises a cage, at least one heat sink, at least one clip and at least one light guide. The cage comprises a front end, a rear end, a top wall positioned between the front end and the rear end and a rear wall positioned at the rear end, the cage is formed with at least one port, the port extends from the front end to the rear end. The heat sink is provided on the top wall of the cage and corresponds to one port. The clip comprises a frame engaged with the top wall and fixing the heat sink and a holding piece extending upwardly from the frame. The light guide has a front section and a rear section, the front section is formed with a first post extending rearwardly, the rear section is formed with two second posts respectively extending forwardly, the first post is inserted into a first hole formed to the holding piece of the clip along a front-to-rear direction, the two second posts are respectively inserted into two second holes formed to the rear wall of the cage along a rear-to-front direction.
