The present invention provides an image processing circuit for compensating image data for a display panel used for displaying first and second image patterns respectively having first and second current loadings. The image processing circuit is used for: receiving a first original image data of the first image pattern and a second original image data of the second image pattern having the same brightness value for a pixel at the same location; converting the first original image data into a first final image data to compensate for an IR drop according to the first current loading; and converting the second original image data into a second final image data to compensate for the IR drop according to the second current loading. The first final image data and the second final image data have substantially the same brightness value for the pixel at the same location.

Image processing circuit and method for compensating for IR drop on display panel

A timing controller and an operation method thereof are provided. The timing controller is used to control a signal timing of a display panel. The timing controller includes an analysis circuit and a decision circuit. The analysis circuit analyzes the content of an image frame to obtain an analysis result. The decision circuit is coupled to the analysis circuit to receive the analysis result. The decision circuit determines a global gray level according to the analysis result. In a blanking interval in which a plurality of sub-pixel circuits of the display panel are turned off, a data voltage corresponding to the global gray level is applied to at least one data line of the display panel corresponding to the sub-pixel circuits.

Timing controller and operation method thereof

A backlight signal processing method is suitable for a display device including a backlight module and a LCD panel, wherein the number of multiple emitting areas of the backlight module is smaller than the number of multiple pixels of the LCD panel. The backlight signal processing method includes: generating multiple first gray level data signals according to multiple color data signals; grouping the first gray level data signals to calculate multiple second gray level data signals, wherein the number of the second gray level data signals is smaller than the number of the first gray level data signals; multiplying a coefficient matrix to obtain multiple gray level matrices; performing an overlapping operation on the gray level matrices to obtain a backlight matrix; and controlling the emitting areas to display according to the backlight matrix respectively.

Backlight signal processing method and display device

A signal processing method and a display device are disclosed herein. The method includes the following operations: adjusting an initial backlight value to generate a first backlight value according to subarea classification information of a display area; generating a backlight adjustment value according to a white pixel ratio of the display area; adjusting the first backlight value to generate a second backlight value according to the backlight adjustment value; and generating a plurality of ultimate gray values according to the second backlight value. The second backlight value is for controlling a backlight module of a display device, and the ultimate gray value is for controlling a liquid crystal unit of the display device.

Signal processing method and display device

A display control method and a display system are provided. An image beam from a light-emitting display layer passes through a liquid crystal display layer to provide an image. The method includes: generating a plurality of second display signals respectively correspond to a plurality of subframes of a frame based on a first display signal, wherein the resolution of the second display signals is lower than that of the first display signal; performing brightness compensation on the first display signal to generate a third display signal; driving the light-emitting display layer according to the second display signals to emit the image beam in the corresponding subframe; and driving the liquid crystal display layer based on the third display signal such that a grayscale variation is generated to the image beam after the image beam passes through the liquid crystal display layer.

Display control method and display system

A display control method includes splitting an image signal into a plurality of input signal sets, generating a first color reformed data, a second color reformed data, a third color reformed data and a fourth color reformed data according to each input signal set, outputting the first color reformed data, the second color reformed data and the third color reformed data when a plurality of pixels corresponding to one input signal set is located at an odd row, and outputting the second color reformed data, the third color reformed data and the fourth color reformed data when the plurality of pixels corresponding to one input signal set is located at an even row. A display apparatus and an image data processing method thereof are provided. The display apparatus includes a first display panel, a second display panel and a backlight module. The image processing method includes: receiving image data; detecting an ambient temperature and an ambient brightness to obtain a detection result; when the ambient temperature is lower than a preset temperature value, selecting the image data to be divided into a plurality block data by display location or gray level range according to the ambient brightness, and performing a blur process on the block data to generate adjusted image data; when the ambient temperature is not lower than the preset temperature value, performing a binary process on the image data to generate the adjusted image data; and driving the second display panel according to the adjust image data.

Display apparatus and image processing method thereof

A display device with switchable viewing angle includes a first pixel and a second pixel. The first pixel has a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The second pixel has a third sub-pixel, a fourth sub-pixel and a fifth sub-pixel. The fifth sub-pixel is configured to be enabled when operating in a narrow viewing angle mode and to be disabled when operating in a wide viewing angle mode. A signal conversion method for a display image is provided. The signal conversion method includes: receiving an image data of the (N&#x2212;1)th frame; converting the (N&#x2212;1)th image data to obtain a luminance data; determining a signal tuning gain of an image data of Nth frame according to the image data of the (N&#x2212;1)th frame, the luminance data and a backlight duty adjusting table; adjusting an image data of Nth frame according to the signal tuning gain of Nth frame so as to generate an output image data of Nth frame; and displaying pixels according to the output image data of Nth frame.

Signal conversion method for display image

A method for controlling a display is provided. An RGB video signal is transformed into an RGBW video signal based on a human factor. The display has a plurality of pixels configured to display images according to the RGBW video signal, where each of the pixels has a red subpixel, a green subpixel, a blue subpixel and a white subpixel. According to the method, when brightness of a backlight module of the display is reduced to decrease energy consumption of the display, quality of the images of the display observed by users is still maintained within an acceptable range.

A display apparatus and a method for transforming color thereof are provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel having a red sub-pixel, a blue sub-pixel, a green sub-pixel and a white sub-pixel, a driver circuit for driving the red sub-pixel, the blue sub-pixel, the green sub-pixel and the white sub-pixel, and a data processing unit. Display apparatus and method for transforming color thereof

Provide a set of first RGB (red, green, blue) brightness levels of a set of pixels in a display panel. Generate a set of saturation levels according to the set of first RGB brightness levels. Generate a set of mapping ratios according to the set of saturation levels and the set of first RGB brightness levels. Generate a set of second RGB brightness levels according to the set of first RGB brightness levels and a minimum mapping ratio of the set of mapping ratios. Generate a set of RGBW (red, green, blue, white) brightness levels according to the set of second RGB brightness levels and a set of brightness levels of white sub-pixels of the set of RGBW brightness levels. And convert the set of RGBW brightness levels to generate a set of RGBW gray levels of the set of pixels.

Image signal processing method

A method for converting input RGB data signals to output RGBW data signals for use in an OLED display is disclosed. In the OLED display, each pixel has three color sub-pixels in RGB and one W sub-pixel. Input RGB data signals in signal space are normalized and converted into input data in luminance space. A baseline adjustment level is determined from the input data and is used to compute baseline adjusted data in luminance space. After being converted from luminance space into signal space, baseline adjusted data in RGBW are represented by N binary bits presented to the four sub-pixels. To suit the color characteristics of the display, color-temperature correction to the output signals is also carried out. In luminance space, the maximum color-temperature corrected output data fall within the range of 0.4/k and 0.5/k, with k being the ratio of W sub-pixel area to the color sub-pixel area.
