Embodiments are provided for communicating notifications and other textual data associated with applications installed on an electronic device. According to certain aspects, a user can interface with an input device to send a wake up trigger to the electronic device. The electronic device retrieves application notifications and converts () the application notifications to audio data. The electronic device also sends the audio data to an audio output device for annunciation. The user may also use the input device to send a request to the electronic device to activate the display screen. The electronic device identifies an application corresponding to an annunciated notification, and activates the display screen and initiates the application.

Embodiments are provided for communicating notifications and other textual data associated with applications installed on an electronic device. According to certain aspects, a user can interface with an input device to send () a wake up trigger to the electronic device. The electronic device retrieves () application notifications and converts () the application notifications to audio data. The electronic device also sends () the audio data to an audio output device for annunciation (). The user may also use the input device to send () a request to the electronic device to activate the display screen. The electronic device identifies () an application corresponding to an annunciated notification, and activates () the display screen and initiates the application.

Embodiments relate to systems and methods for predictive text entry for small touch-screen devices. A two-state input interface () of a device () can include a seek area (), which displays a subset of letters representing the full range of available letters. The user can select a first letter in that subset. A prediction engine () can generate a next most-likely letter () based on the currently inputted letter, using look-up tables or other techniques based on letter sequence probabilities. The user can respond with a right or left-swipe gesture, causing the prediction engine () to seek the most-likely next letter upstream or downstream in the alphabet. The user can also respond by touching the seek area causing the prediction engine () to seek the next predicted letter closest to the touch point. The prediction engine () can also generate a predicted completed word, for convenient user selection.

Systems and methods for predictive text entry for small-screen devices with touch-based two-stage text input

Embodiments relate to systems and methods for touch-based two-stage text input. An electronic device (), such as a wearable wireless device, can be configured with a two-stage input interface () on a display (). A first stage can include a seek area (), which displays a subset of letters or other symbols to represent the full range of symbolic elements that are available, in a compressed form. The user can identify an intended target range () by touching an area at or around the letter or other symbol of interest. That input triggers the display of a second stage of the interface in a separate selection area (), in which all letters or other symbols in the target range are expanded and displayed. The user can then touch and lift off the letter or other symbol they wish to choose, for example, to insert in a message or application.

Systems and methods for touch-based two-stage text input

Disclosed is a method of interactive display that includes providing a touch-based display screen capable of stereoscopic displaying of object images that further includes displaying a plurality of object images on the display screen, wherein at least a first of the object images is selectable and displayed so as to appear to be located at least partially in a zero-plane of the display screen, wherein at least a second of the object images is displayed so as to appear to be located at least one of inwardly and outwardly of the zero-plane, receiving a first input at a location of the display screen substantially corresponding to the first of the object images, and identifying the first input as corresponding to the first of the object images that is selectable and taking at least one further action upon the identification.
