A pixel array includes a plurality of repeating units. Each repeating unit includes three first color sub-pixels, three second color sub-pixels, three third color sub-pixels, and three fourth color sub-pixels. The size of one of the first color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two first color sub-pixels. The size of one of the second color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two first color sub-pixels. The size of one of the third color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two third color sub-pixels. The size of one of the fourth color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two fourth color sub-pixels.

Pixel array

A pixel array includes a plurality of repeating units. Each repeating unit includes three first color sub-pixels, four second color sub-pixels, and three third color sub-pixels. The size of one of the first color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two first color sub-pixels. The sizes of the four second color sub-pixels are the same. The size of one of the third color sub-pixels is greater than the size of each of the other two third color sub-pixels.

A pixel matrix includes pixel units. The pixel units are arranged in a repeating pattern, in which each of the pixel units includes transparent pixels, reflective pixels, and switch components. Each of the transparent pixels includes a transparent electrode and a transparent color resist layer disposed on the transparent electrode. Each of the reflective pixels includes a reflective electrode. The switch components are connected to the transparent electrodes of the transparent pixels and the reflective electrodes of the reflective pixels respectively for driving the transparent pixels and the reflective pixels individually.

Pixel matrix and display using the same

A flat panel display includes a four-color conversion unit, a backlight control unit, a backlight module, and a pixel array. The four-color conversion unit provides a first set of four color image signals corresponding to three color image input signals based on a preliminary conversion lookup table and provides corresponding conversion scaling factors. The backlight control unit generates a backlight adjusting factor based on the conversion scaling factors. The backlight module provides a backlight output having an intensity adjusted according to the backlight adjusting factor. The four-color conversion unit further provides a second set of four color image signals corresponding to the three color image input signals based on the backlight adjusting factor. The pixel array displays an image according to the second set of four color image signals and the backlight output.

Flat panel display having dynamic adjustment mechanism and image display method thereof

A method for adjusting saturation degree and a color adjusting system are provided. The method for adjusting saturation degree includes the following steps. A hue circle is divided into a plurality of hue regions, and each of the hue regions is divided into a plurality of saturation regions according to at least one saturation threshold. A plurality of first input saturation degrees of a first saturation region of a first hue region of the hue regions are weighted by a first weighting formula for obtaining a plurality of first output saturation degrees. A plurality of second input saturation degrees of a second saturation region of the first hue region of the hue regions are weighted by a second weighting formula for obtaining a plurality of second output saturation degrees. The first weighting formula is different from the second weighting formula.

Method for adjusting saturation degree and color adjusting system

A method of compensating the color gamut of a display includes establishing a plurality of color gamut boundaries of four color hues, generating m sets of original luminance, chrominance and hue values according to m sets of tricolor grey level values, adjusting the chrominance of n sets of luminance, chrominance and hue values of the m sets of luminance, chrominance and hue values exceeding the plurality of color gamut boundaries with four color hues to generate n sets of corrected luminance, chrominance and hue values, generating m sets of four color grey levels according to the n sets of corrected luminance, chrominance and hue values and (m&#x2212;n) sets of uncorrected luminance, chrominance and hue values, and displaying images on the display according to the m sets of four color grey levels.

Method of compensating color gamut of display

A pixel includes four sub-pixels. The pixel is used to receive a plurality of signal values to display an image. The signal values are N-bit signal values, and the largest value of the signal values is (2&#x2212;1). The method of displaying the image with the pixel includes providing three color signals, generating four transformation signals corresponding to the four sub-pixels according to the values of the three color signals, and using four output signals to display the image of the pixel when the color saturation value is not larger than a first predetermined value and a fourth transformation signal of the four transformation signals is larger than other three transformation signals of the four transformation signals.

Display and method of displaying an image with a pixel

A saturation adjustment method is disclosed for compensating over-saturation adjustment. The saturation adjustment method includes: adjusting a first full-scale saturation corresponding to a hue of a color wheel to become a second full-scale saturation wherein the second full-scale saturation is greater than the first full-scale saturation; setting a critical saturation corresponding to the hue based on the first and second full-scale saturations; and adjusting a first saturation within a range between the critical and second full-scale saturations corresponding to the hue to become a second saturation based on the first full-scale, second full-scale and critical saturations. Furthermore, disclosed is a color adjustment system essentially including a saturation adjuster for adjusting the first saturation greater than the critical full-scale saturation to become the second saturation based on an adjusted full-scale saturation and the critical saturation.

Saturation adjustment method and related color adjustment system

A pixel structure includes a red sub-pixel, a green sub-pixel, a blue sub-pixel and a white sub-pixel. The red sub-pixel, the green sub-pixel and the blue sub-pixel are suitable for providing a first white light, and a chroma coordinate of the first white light is (x, y). The white sub-pixel is suitable for providing a second white light, and a chroma coordinate of the second white light is (x, y). The chroma coordinate of the first white light is different from the chroma coordinate of the second white light, that is, (x, y)&#x2260;(x, y), while x&#x2267;xand y&#x2266;y.

A multi-primary color display has a backlight source and pixels. Each pixel has at least four sub pixels, which display red primary color, green primary color, blue primary color and a fourth primary color, respectively. At the peak position of the fourth primary color located in the wavelength range between 550 nm&#x2dc;600 nm, the relative luminance ratio of the fourth primary color to the green primary color is greater than or equal to 0.5. When the ratio of the relative luminance meets the requirement and the relative luminance of a newly added primary color is greater than a certain value, the colors beyond the three-primary color gamut, which includes natural colors and other colors outside the natural color gamut, can be reproduced.
