The first subject matter of the invention is the (3R) epimer of octahydro-7,7-dimethyl-8-methylene-1H-3a,6-methanoazulen-3-yl acetate [(octahydro-7,7-dimethyl-8-methylene-[3R,3aR,6R,8aR]-1H-3a,6-methanoazulen-3-yl acetate) or (R)-norzizaenylacetate] of formula I (I).
