Method and device for filling cartons

Tray packs ( ) are packs made of cardboard or the like which are open at the top and have side walls, namely longitudinal walls ( ) and transverse walls ( ), of a low height. In order to improve the dimensional stability of the tray pack ( ), upright corner supports ) which are angled in cross section are provided in the region of corners, the height of said corner supports corresponding approximately to the height of the individual packs or articles. A base wall ( ) comprises base tabs, namely transverse tabs ( ) and longitudinal tabs ( ), which correspond, in shape and size, to recesses ( ) which are formed above the side walls ( ) in conjunction with the corner supports ( ). This means that blanks for the tray pack ( ) can be produced in a largely waste-free manner from a continuous material web.

Tray pack for a group of articles, and process and apparatus for producing the same

Device for packaging groups, i.e. layers (14), of packages (10) in a carton (11) or the like, and individually arriving packages (10) are collected in the area of a grouping station (23) so as to form rows of packages (13), and the latter are pushed off in the transverse direction by a transverse slide (28) onto a collecting plate (29) in order to establish layers (14) comprising a plurality of rows of packages (13). The complete layers (14) are handled by a lifting conveyer (33) and delivered to the carton (11).

Device for packaging groups of (Individual) packages

Process and apparatus for handling (individual) packs (10), namely for packaging the latter in a folding box or the like. The packs (10), which, for production or other reasons, are fed in a specific relative position, to be introduced into the folding box as a pack group (22) in another predetermined relative position. For this purpose, turning stations (27, 49) are installed in the region of the pack conveyor and rotate the packs (10)--depending on requirements--about a horizontal axis and/or about a vertical axis.

Process and apparatus for handling, in particular, soft film packs

Method and device for handling material webs coated on one side with an adhesive (15). The material web (14) coated on one side with adhesive (15) is drawn from an (active) reel (16). A replacement reel (18) is prepared (manually) for connecting an initial section (19) to the material web which is running out. Once the material web (14) from the reel (16) has been used up, the initial section (19) of the replacement reel (18) is pressed against the adhesive (15) side of the outgoing material web (14) and thus connected to the material web (14).

Method and device for handling adhesive webs

Bundle packs are usually provided with a complete outer wrapping of a group of articles (33). This type of bundle pack is expensive in terms of material consumption. In the present case, the bundle group (33) is surrounded by two intersecting tapes (17, 18). These tapes (17, 18) are positioned such that they sufficiently surround and hold together a plurality of individual articles or packaging units (26) of the group of articles (33).

For the transportation of articles or of groups of articles between a fixed, predetermined receiving position (20) and a likewise predetermined, fixed set-down position (19), in particular within a folding carton (11) which is open at the top, use is made of a lifting conveyor (21) which transports a lifting head (18) back and forth exclusively along a predetermined inverted U-shaped movement path. The movement path is provided by: two upright vertical movement legs, namely in the set-down position (19), on the one hand, and on the other hand, in the receiving position (20); and a top, horizontal conveying section which interconnects the top of the two vertical movement legs and which is of unchangeable horizontal length.

Apparatus for filling cartons

A transport appliance (10) to be actuated manually serves for handling large-volume reels (11) of packaging material. This transport appliance (10) is equipped with a lifting mechanism (23) which in each case grasps a reel (11) with vertical positioning, specifically by means of carrier rods (24, 25) on the cylindrical circumferential surface. The lifting mechanism (23) is operated hydraulically by means of a vertical hydraulic cylinder (33) which is supplied with oil via a hydraulic pump (38) to be operated by hand, in order to raise the carrier rods (24, 25) together with the reel (11).

Apparatus for the reception and transport of reels of packaging material

A process and a device for severing wrappings (11) in each case surrounding a stack (10) of blanks and for removing the wrappings (11). To guarantee that they are held together better, stacks (10) of blanks are surrounded by a strip-shaped wrapping (11). In the region of a wrappings station (19), these are severed by a horizontally movable knife (23). The knife (23) enters into the upper area of an upright limb (12) of the wrapping (11), between upper blanks of the stack (10) of blanks, and is moved along a guide rail (25) whilst severing the wrapping (11). The latter is subsequently drawn away downward by a drawing force.

Process and device for handling stacks of blanks having wrappings

Apparatus for transporting blank stacks (14) surrounded by a band (15). During the transport of the blank stacks (14) in the direction of their longitudinal extension, the band (15) surrounding the blank stack (14) in the transverse direction is severed on the underside (bottom wall 19) by a stationary severing knife (35). The blank stack (14), together with the severed band (15), is conveyed further to a point above a magazine shaft (13, 13a). Here, the band (15) is held by suckers (39) and is sucked off via a lateral suction channel (40).

Apparatus for the handling of blank stacks having a band

For the transportation and storage of cigarettes (10), containers (11), which are open on a large-area front side and which, furthermore, have a downwardly directed emptying orifice (17), are used. This emptying orifice (17) is directed upwards before the emptying operation. In order to guarantee a regular fault-free emptying of the container (11), with the emptying orifice (17) directed downwards, there can be introduced into the container (11) pressure member (25) which extends over the entire length of a cigarette level (24) and which exerts slight pressure on the cigarettes (10). An exact horizontal cigarette level (24) is thereby established. The pressure member (25) rests on the cigarettes (10) over the entire length of the latter. To introduce the pressure member (25) into the container (11) in an upper position, the pressure member (25) s displaceable by a transversely movable actuating member, especially by a crosshead (60).

Apparatus for the storage and conveyance of cigarettes or the like

A packaging machine for cardboard boxes and a process for packaging articles in the cardboard boxes in which an insert (15) is placed into at least one side of an open cardboard shell (10). Insert units (16, 17), disposed on both sides of a moving track for the cardboard shell (10), each have an insert transmitter (19) which removes insert (15) successively from a magazine (18) and swivels the insert (15) to an upright position. The insert-transmitter (19) is moved synchronously with the packaging machine by an operating rod (22), having two double-armed levers (23, 24).

In the apparatus used for producing cuboid (cigarette) packs of the hinge-lid type having bevelled or rounded longitudinal edges (37,38,39,40) the blank is brought into an angular intermediate folding position thereby erecting the side tabs and forming the bevelled or rounded longitudinal edges. For this purpose, the blank is pressed, by means of a shaping punch (58) with punch plate (59), into a pocket (47) of a folding turret (46), the blank parts being folded, thereby forming the bevelled longitudinal edges, by means of stationary or movable folding tools.

Process and apparatus for producing packs with bevelled or rounded

An essentially cuboid hinge-lid pack with a pack part (10) and a hinge lid (11) is rounded in the region of vertical longitudinal edges (26,27) and lid longitudinal edges (28 and 29) and in the region of collar longitudinal front edges (30). The dimensions of the rounded portions of the longitudinal edges (26 and 30) are such that they correspond to the dimensions of cigarettes, so that the latter can fit into the rounded corners inside the hinge-lid pack. Measures for locking the hinge lid (11) in the closed position are also provided.
