An industrial facility includes: a metal strip in motion; and/or at least one work cylinder; a contactless wiping system of a cooling liquid and/or lubricant jet or stream driven by a surface of the metal strip in motion or the work cylinder, the wiping system including a separating cleat with integrated supply of cooling liquid ending with a nozzle bar to be placed along a width of the metal strip or the cylinder and separated, during use, by a determined interval with respect to the metal strip or the work cylinder, the nozzle bar being oriented so as to supply a jet in a for of a liquid curtain oriented along a direction that is substantially opposite a scrolling direction of the strip or a rotation direction of the cylinder; and a liquid recovery trough, oriented such that during use, liquid sprayed by the nozzles deflects the jet.

The present invention relates to an installation for the in-line lubrication of rolling cylinders (), preferably for hot rolling of a metal strip, which is preferably steel, by spraying or atomizing a lubricant over a target comprising said cylinders and/or said strip, preferably in the vicinity of the roll gap, by means of a bar () of controllable air sprays (), arranged in parallel to said cylinders () and supplied with compressed air or inert gas (), wherein each spray () comprises an inlet for the compressed air or inert gas () and an inlet for uncompressed pure oil () in an adapter () followed by a mixing chamber (') as well as an outlet nozzle () for the atomized mixture.

Spray lubrication unit and method for rolling cylinders

(EN) The present invention relates to a device for cooling a working roll () belonging to a rolling stand used for rolling a long or flat product (), characterized in that it comprises a cooling head in the form of a box section (A,B) that is sealed except along a front face () lying a short distance from said roll (), and in which face a plurality of nozzles () has been machined or positioned in a determined pattern, said box section (A,B) being concave and cylindrical at its front face (). The box section (A,B) is also fitted with transverse () and lateral () plates which collaborate with the front face () of the box section so as to control the flow of cooling liquid and confine said liquid in the form of a highly turbulent flow. This then yields optimal cooling of the roll both in terms of the uniformity of the cooling across the surface thereof and in terms of the reduction in temperature as a result of the turbulent effect created.

Device and method for cooling rollers used for rolling in a highly turbulent environment

In a process for the inspection of the surface of a cylindrical body and more especially that of a mill roll, at least one zone of the surface is observed by means of an inspection device having an optical axis oriented towards this zone of the surface with a view to determining the state of the surface. To this end, at least one image of the zone supplied by the inspection device is captured, at least one of the images captured is analysed, the analysis of the image or images captured is compared with the analysis of a reference image, the differences between the analysis of the image or images captured and the analysis of the reference image are detected, and at least the orientation of the optical axis is adjusted so as at least to reduce and preferably to eliminate the differences found. The device can include mechanical and/or optical means of adjusting the orientation of the optical axis.
