A node performs iterative GRAND-burst discovery by generating a first stream of candidate codewords by deinterleaving a first stream of bits. The node determines a validity of a first bit of a first candidate codeword in the first stream of candidate codewords using GRAND, generates a second stream of bits by re-interleaving the first stream of candidate codewords, and determines whether a second bit in the second stream of bits is a potential error bit based on a location of the second bit relative to a location of the first bit in the second stream of bits and the validity of the first bit. The node generates a second stream of candidate codewords by deinterleaving the second stream of bits, and changes a value of a third bit of the second stream of candidate codewords based on whether the second bit is a potential error bit.

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Embodiments herein relate to e.g., a method performed by a network node for handling a received signal in a communication network. The network node includes at least two processing cores connected via a bus system for handling the received signal. The network node receives input bits associated with the received signal and permutes the received input bits into input bits of permuted order taking at least number of processing cores into account. The network node further decodes the input bits of the permuted order and re-permutes the decoded input bits into original order.

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a network node for handling a received signal in a communication network. The network node distributes a first number of inputs of a demodulated signal to a first processing core of at least two processing cores and a second number of inputs of the demodulated signal to a second processing core of the at least two processing cores. The network node further decodes the first number of inputs of the demodulated signal by a first message passing within the first processing core, and decodes the second number of inputs of the demodulated signal by a second message passing within the second processing core. The network node further decodes the demodulated signal by performing a third message passing between the different processing cores over a bus that is performed according to a set schedule.

The system estimates uplink channel information for a radio link from a wireless device to a radio network node. The machine learning unit comprises relationships between beamforming information and uplink channel information determined based on stored pairs of reported downlink beamforming information and measured uplink channel information. The obtained downlink beamforming information is applicable for the radio cell sector. Methods and apparatus for training a Neural Network to recover a codeword of a Forward Error Correction (FEC) code are provided. Trainable parameters of the Neural Network are optimised to minimise a loss function. The loss function is calculated by representing an estimated value of the message bit output from the Neural Network as a probability of the value of the bit in a predetermined real number domain and multiplying the representation of the estimated value of the message bit by a representation of a target value of the message bit. Training a neural network may be implemented via a loss function.

Neural networks for decoding

A method performed by a first radio node for handling a beam pair with a second radio node is provided. The first radio node receives a first information from one or more other radio nodes. The first information comprises a number of quality values related to a number of beam pairs. The first radio node predicts a time to failure for a first beam pair. The first radio node then decides whether or not there is enough time until the predicted time to failure, for performing a beam pair switch from the first beam pair to a second beam pair. When there is enough time, the first radio node switches to the second beam pair before the predicted time to failure. When there is not enough time, the first radio node prepares an upcoming beam pair failure.

Handling beam pairs in a wireless network

Methods and apparatus for training a neural network to recover a codeword and for decoding a received signal using a neural network are disclosed. According to examples of the disclosed methods, a syndrome check is introduced at even layers of the neural network during the training, testing and online phases. During training, optimisation of trainable parameters of the neural network is ceased after optimisation at the layer at which the syndrome check is satisfied. Examples of the method for training a neural network may be implemented via a proposed loss function. During testing and online phases, propagation through the neural network is ceased at the layer at which the syndrome check is satisfied.

It is presented a method for modulating data for transmission over a communication channel to a receiver network entity. The method is performed in a transmitter network entity and comprises the step of: modulating data in accordance with a modulation scheme, the modulation scheme comprising a first set of constellation points respectively representing only one bit sequence and a second set of constellation points respectively representing two different bit sequences.
