A weft insertion system for an air-jet loom includes at least one main blower nozzle and a compressed air supply for the main blower nozzle, the compressed air supply including stationary components and components which move together with the main blowing nozzle, the stationary and movable components being connected by a compressed-air conduit which extends between an outlet of one of the stationary components to an intake of one of the movable components. The stationary components are mounted in such a manner that the outlet of the stationary components is located above the intake of the components which move together with the main blower nozzle and, furthermore, is mounted approximately centrally with respect to the end positions of the movement of the moving components.

Weft insertion system for air-jet loom

A thread brake includes a plurality of fixed thread guide elements, at least two movable thread guide elements mounted on a rotatable body which, through rotation, can be brought in opposite directions to cross a path of a thread being guided by the fixed thread guide elements and thereby engage the thread such that the thread is bent in two places, thereby braking the thread. Rotation of the movable thread guide elements may be restricted during braking by taps appropriately positioned.

A device for supplying weft threads in airjet weaving machines includes at least one nozzle connected to a compressed air source, a buffer tank, a cutoff valve placed in a funnel between the compressed air source and the nozzle, and a controlled throttling device. The throttling device is mounted downstream from the buffer tank and in the immediate surroundings of the cutoff valve, and includes the funnel, a rotary throttling element, and a motor for rotating the throttling element. The funnel is divided into an inlet funnel and an outlet funnel connected to the inlet funnel. The rotary throttling element fits within the inlet funnel and rotates to selectively block an entry to the outlet funnel according to the degree of rotation of the throttling device.

A thread clip including a clamping mechanism (1) consisting of a first jaw (2) and a second jaw (3); a spring mechanism (4) which presses the clamping mechanism jaws (1) together; an electromagnetic device (5) which can open the clamping mechanism against the force of the above-mentioned spring mechanism (4); a cam mechanism (6) which can close the clamping mechanism (1) against the force of the electromagnetic device (5); and a mechanism (7) which on closing of the clamping mechanism (1) by means of the cam mechanism (6) presses the different elements of the clamping mechanism (1) against each other with a certain clamping force.

A weft accumulating method and assembly of a weaving loom for accumulating a lenght of weft thread to be inserted into a shed by a pick insertion assembly of the loom in which the accumulator comprises a weft supply; includes a drawing off device off a predetermined length of weft thread from the supply; at least one perforated cylindrical tube; a fluid blowing device to blow the drawn off weft through the tube; and a clamping device to open and close the end of the tube to accumulate weft thread in the tube when the device is closed and to supply the weft thread to the pick insertion assembly when the device is open.
